I play the Gu-Zheng... but I recently stopped taking classes, cause they conflict with my schoolwork ><
But I still know how; I mean, 9 years of playing it wouldn`t go to waste that quickly d:

I used to take piano as a kid. Got to grade 4 in the Royal Conservatory levels, but then my teacher quit to go back to school and the next nearest teacher was an hour and a half drive away: too far. I also used to play guitar quite a bit in high school, when I was a big grunge and punk fan. In university, though, I started playing less and less and then eventually just quit. I still have one electric guitar, but I don't play very often. My boyfriend plays more and really enjoys figuring out tunes. I just don't have the patience anymore. Sad Oh well, though, it's still fun to goof around sometimes and (for whatever) reason, I still remember how to play 5 tunes (2 Mozart, 1 Clementi, and 3 ragtime jazz songs) by heart. So I always play those 5 when I visit my parents. Smile

I play the violin and I'm hating it. xP Actually if I play for fun it's okay, I just hate the pressure of RCM exams. >_>;

They are a lot of pressure, aren't they caffienated? (Great name, btw. Smile ) Especially since they're so expensive and if you don't do well, you have to wait so long to try again.

I play the Violin, Viola, Cello and the Bass.
I started to learn the Flute, but I was forced to drop my music elective for a technology one, le sigh. I still want to learn, but I guess I'll have to wait until after I graduate since I can't find any teachers outside of school. I used to go to UIL competitions all the time too! So much fun ^_^ Sneeze

I really really really really want to learn to play the guitar. Can you tell I love stringed instruments? Tongue

I've been teaching myself piano for the past 8 months, and I must say that it hasn't been easy. You can listen to my 6-months worth of practicing in the Concert Hall here, but I have improved since then. I'm quite proud of myself for being able to improve within 2 months, but I just haven't felt like recording anything new yet. No

I've also been playing Alto Saxophone for 5 years now, and I've won many 1st place awards at several district-level Solo&Ensemble competitions. When I started out in high school last year I was placed in the lower-level band because I never had private lessons with a personal tutor. It was rather disappointing, but I was able to prove myself by playing this 12th grade-level IMEA scale sheet at the end of the year which promoted me to the elite marching band. Hmm... I should record my sax playing someday. The only problem is that my camcorder makes my playing sound like crap (it probably does Giggle).
I will definitely post a picture of myself in my marching band uniform when school starts again.

I don't take any formal lessons for guitar but I own one and play it very casually. I'll have guitar freak stages where I'll come home from work or school everyday and learn new songs and such. I also took drum lessons for awhile from my grade five teacher's son. He was a cool guy and didn't teach us normally; he wanted us to figure stuff out for ourselves and just taught us stuff we wanted to learn. His style seems to have payed of for him because he ended up winning a Juno awhile back with his band, The Duhks. Pleased

started piano when I was 6/7 and at the end of third grade, I took up viola. fifth grade, I started oboe, but switched in the middle of the year to french horn. when I went to middle school, I quite band entirely. I guess I was always an orchestra girl at heart... =) now I just play piano and viola, but I can play a few beats on djembe (note: only a few)

Woah! It's mostly piano... I'm self studying the acoustic guitar. I'm so bad at it and I stop when I must grow my fingernails long. Love
