Who ever said art has its limitations? And why should anyone simply stick to one genre? And ladies and gentlemen, this is the beauty of sHaKy LeGs, the very first single released from the label, Channel Ai Productions. This single certainly has variation, attitude and humour at one go so I suggest you won’t let this one slip through your fingers.

1. sHaKy LeGs (Original ver.)

sHaKy LeGs deceivingly starts out with a dark and menancing tone as if the singer is threatening the listener. However the mood suddenly disrupted when a kiddish voice breaks in squealing “EVERYBODY, SHAKE YOUR LEGS!” which will take anybody aback. The genre quickly switches to country with a hint of folk. The mood is more uplifting and lively with spellie ocassionally screaming into the microphone but it gradually slows down into rap where spyro gets funkier and funkier till his voice gets distorted… In the end the song switches to country and as the song slows down to the end spyro and spellie have the last word together. Quite a bizarre track indeed with a unique funky edge which will probably leave you scratching your head in confusion but trust me, this song will grow on you like fungus.

2. sHaKy LeGs (Outtake ver.)

To be honest I have really enjoyed this version. It’s similar to the original version but has a more spontaneous and silly touch to it. Vocals aren’t exactly the best but I really enjoyed the rap part where the distorted vocals sound like some alien’s poor attempt at rapping. Trust me these are simply ridiculous but totally amusing. Also the random obnoxious sounds thrown in randomly give this song a lot of life and humour.

Conclusion

Overall I’ve really enjoyed this single. For a first single it’s really well made and it’s pretty obvious that a lot of work has been put through it. I’ve really enjoyed how spyro’s and spellie’s voice blended together really well to make this duet flow really well. Also the lyrics were pure genius, quite witty and well thought, while the composition was simply a professional piece which flowed so well that I was really impressed after listening to the instrumental version alone.
