The shuffles for 2004 were different in all ways possible. First of all, as an anniversary of H!P’s 7 years in existence (since when is 7 a big thing?), the WHOLE Hello! Project, even the Hello! Project kids, formed one mega unit called the H.P. All Stars. They released a single together called ALL FOR ONE & ONE FOR ALL! Although the previous shuffles were considered summer shuffles and had singles released in the summer, this was released in December of 2004. (H!P fans like me were wondering where the shuffles were in summer 2004..) Yes, they all worked on it together, which meant they all had to fit on one stage for TV appearances. How they managed to do that, with 46 members at the time, you ask? No idea. But anything is possible with the Hello! Project.

The members, in order of appearance of the song (which is the order in which they entered the H!P), are as follows:

NOTE: These members are the ones that were STILL in the H!P AT THE TIME, regardless of if they graduated Morning Musume or not. Former H!P members were not included in this group.

The single, ALL FOR ONE & ONE FOR ALL!, is a nice, happy pop song. It’s got a medium tempo to it at the beginning, but then speeds up quite a bit. It’s not like a hyper, poppy, energetic H!P song, it’s a lot more conservative. Most of the song is the groups singing all together, which sounds very nice and adds to the “all for one and one for all” theme. However, at some parts of the song some members do indeed have solo lines. They sound fine but listening to a bunch of girls and then abruptly switching to just one is a little odd. Overall I do love this song.

There are 2 b-sides to this single, though: Sankaku Kankei and Suki Ni Naccha Ikenai Hito. The members singing them are almost like shuffle units, but don’t consider them as shuffles, because they aren’t. They’re merely b-sides of this single.

Sankaku Kankei is just sung by Atsuko Inaba, Masae Otani, Ayumi Shibata, and Aya Matsuura. Why were these people chosen for this song? I do not know. This song is a mid-tempo, mature, smooth pop-like song. It’s sort of got a little bit of a R&B feel. Actually, it’s quite slow but it’s a nice song. They do a good job on this and their voices all match very well. I’m not crazy about this, but it’s a nice relaxing song that is quite a nice contrast to ALL FOR ONE & ONE FOR ALL.

The other b-side of the single is Suki ni Naccha Ikenai Hito. This song is only sung by Reina Tanaka, Megumi Murakami, and Airi Suzuki. This is often times considered Aa! version 2 because it consists of 2/3 of Aa! Coindidentally, the song type is similar to what Aa! sounds like. It’s a mid-tempo R&B song that’s quite catchy, especially at the chorus. A background noise gets really annoying, though- someone/something saying something similar to “watatatchidaON!” But, overall, it’s a nicely executed song.

Although totally different from past shuffles, this whole group and single is nicely done.
