That's really a cool review. I'm honest. Really. Although I'd just heard It's Sad, Perfect Moment, Countdown in this album. This review will be my guide to search 4 HYDE's song next time. Because I'm new HYDEist. I've been hearing his song since 3 weeks ago. And became a big HYDE. In his solo work I found different part of Hyde as L'Arc vocalist. A deep theme of his song lyrics. Heavy and touching music. I can feel what he wanna show in every note, distortion and words. Beautiful, strange, and powerful chord progression. As solo artist he becomes very free to create music. And he shows a meaningful substance in his lyric. Like other perspective about the creation and live. I love his art. Although I didn't agree with atheist vision. Thx 4 review.

I have to say that the very first song that I've heard from HYDE was Season's Call...and that the reason that I got the CD was for that song. And I'm glad that i got it.

I never though that someone can go through the same search path like he did. And I confirmed it getting the past two albums...maybe that's why I felt so identified with him...and ended up loving his unique voice.

And I agree with most of the reviews...but let's remember that this comes from his beliefs and being born in Japan and all the conservative environment of his country...he did a wonderful job.

And I dare to believe that this album can the most memorable of his solo career.

When I first heard the whole album, I must admit that I was a bit culture shocked, because this is the first time I ever head HYDE do an experiment of himself and his beliefs. I trully am a HYDE fan, and being able to hear this different form of music that he has always convinces me at the same time impresses me of one thing: He will always keep us wanting for more because he would always have something new in store for us.

But I do agree with the review, he's a bit too technical with his exploration of the Christian faith, as if he was only able to grasp the conservative, almost rusty side of the Christian tradition. I myself was raised in a conservative Catholic School so I do know the difference of religious conservatism vs. religious liberality.

All in all, it's a great leap in his creative juices... He just isn't oriented well on the subject he tries to touch with. But this really is a much better HYDE being solo so far. Cuz after all, I think this is the first album that he was able to separate himself totally from L'Arc en Ciel.

I recieved this album as a gift from a friend and was instantly in love with it. Being new to JRock in all it's forms (I've only been listening since Nov. '06), I was trying to find a sound that suited my taste. I was already an enamored fan of Gackt, so it seemed that HYDE / L'Arc-En-Ciel was the correct next step.

I will admit, at first some of the songs struck me hard and I wasn't too comfortable with them. Yet, after I went through them and heard them, I saw that HYDE was on to something and that there was more to each song than just the lyrics. I played it for my roommate and she, too, fell in love with it. It's one of our favorite albums to play when we're both winding down from a day of classes and work.

I applaud and commend HYDE in all of his works. He sings from his heart and soul, and I think that he tries really hard to give his fans the best of himself. Solo or with L'Arc, HYDE is one of the best singers I've ever had the pleasure of listening to, in any language.

This review is awesome. Thank you so much for putting it up for all to see. Your descriptions of the songs are absolutely pure and true. Thank you.

It's very interesting the progression of themes Hyde is exploring in his music. It's like he's started out with the traditional Japanese view of belief (i.e. the angel/kami themes of Roentgen that hint at the traditional Japanese view of a westernized yet uniquely Japanese angel mythology that shows up in popular mythology), then moved to atheism with a side of Satanism (i.e. the themes of the 666 album), and seems to now be exploring atheism while being somewhat sympathetic to Christianity yet unable to reconcile a lot of the issues involved with it.

If this isn't all just for keeping the money coming in, if it's honestly who he is, I'm more impressed by him than I am by a lot of artists, because so few people even care to look at that dimension of life, even care to question themselves (they pick one belief either because of their family or because they want the opposite of their family and stick with it), so he's earned my admiration just for that ability to not get stuck in a closeminded rut.

Excellent review. :) I would have given Mission a 5/5 though and Seasons Call probabaly a 4.5/5. This really is an amazing album and I think the best to be released this year thus far. Possibly the best in the last few years actually. I was lucky enough to see Hyde live in CA and the album is amazing live as well.

To the poster that was not impressed with the album: It's really an album that you have to listen to multiple times and really understand the lyrics to fully enjoy I think. I was a big Hyde fan to begin with, but even I didn't really love this album upon first listen that much, it was only with subsequent listenings that I realized how genius it is.
