LET'S GO Rakuten Eagles DEF. DIVA 2nd Single: LET’S GO Rakuten Eagles
01. LET’S GO Rakuten Eagles
02. LET’S GO Rakuten Eagles (Instrumental)

Although they were judged as another one of those one shot H!P groups, such as Nochiura Natsumi and Gomattou, DEF. DIVA actually released a second single all the way back on March 25th. It was not really a “real” release, as it is only being sold here on the Rakuten Eagles website, but it is a single nonetheless. There is, however, no b-side.

Following in the footsteps of Morning Musume’s single “The Manpower!!!”, LET’S GO Rakuten Eagles was/is being used as the official song of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles baseball team.

LET’S GO Rakuten Eagles is viewed sometimes as a “chant”, which it surely is. It repeats the same lyrics a lot, follows patterns, and is EXTREMELY catchy. On that note: it’s not a bad chant. It’s quite good. It’s actually not a bad song on its own (a song like this could easily be a normal H!P song) but it’s definitely very fitting as a cheering song for a baseball team. There’s lots of cheering (especially in the chorus) and the lyrics are never afraid to pimp da team, yo. Also, it’s just plain great because it’s by DEF. DIVA, duh. The song is kind of confusing and jumbled up at times, and it could be a wee bit better, I suppose, but overall it’s great. I was just even surprised that DEF. DIVA got a second chance.

Rating: ★★★★½

Since there’s no b-side, that was a pretty easy review. Do I need to put an overall rating here? Nah. I doubt it. In conclusion, LET’S GO, RAKUTEN EAGLES! ^_^ (is it even baseball season now? I don’t follow sports…)

Guess what? DEF. DIVA is back after this! Sort of. DEF. DIVA is part of the WaT x Hello! Project Volleyball World Championships support group. DEF. DIVA themselves have sung their own version of the song, Ready Go!, for one of the many commercials. No word yet of if they will be releasing it as a single or something else!

I’m glad they are back. Hopefully they will be returning to release more singles in the future! I was just watching random videos when I saw this and I was extremely amused to see their baseball chant. Their vocals blend so well together that it’s quite enjoyable to listen to them. Anyhow thank you again for a great review!

I love everything these girls and tsunku have put out together so far! The music is great, their voices blend so well, lifting the songs just a little bit more. (I was surprised how much more bored I was listening to the maki goto solo version of suki sugite baka mitai.)
This and suki sugite baka mitai are definetly my favourite “one shot” group releases. And who know, they might turn up again? At least DEF.DIVA is announced to participate in the upcoming WaT & Hello ! Project single…

Haha, I’ve been waiting for you to do a review on this since I first saw a clip of them performing it at a game a long time ago :P Yes, I now depend on you for my H!P ‘collection’ (which is practically nonexistent :P). Aren’t you proud?

Lol, anyways, great review. This is one of the best shuffle groups so far in my opinion, if not one of the best. I almost like this song more than Suki Sugite Baka Mitai – although SSBM was catchy and had a great tune, LET’S GO Rakuten Eagles just has that *vibe* that makes you want to get up and CHEER – for a team that you know absolutely nothing about! XD

The only problem I have with the whole thing, really, is Ishikawa Rika’s hair in the PV. It’s very… errrm, weird and doesn’t really suit her. Just my 2 cents.

Damn they should continue Def.Diva, I love all their releases lol. Plus the group is uber good! You got all three solos and the new v-u-den star! What’s not to like, all their voices blend well together. Go def.diva!
