Hitomi Shimatani’s personal life happens to be obscured from all of her fans. Most of her professional career is fairly common knowledge for everyone, but little is known about her family, friends and relationships. Unlike artists like Ayumi Hamasaki, most of her musical releases seem to be disconnected from her own inner feelings and life.
Although Hitomi is talkative and friendly, she is usually happy enough to speak about her career only. Apart from the rumored relationship with Koizumi Kotaro, Hitomi rarely was the target of tabloids and is free from any scandals.
However this has quickly changed when Hitomi was spotted with the actor and singer, Hiroshi Tamaki on the 23rd of October. According to the magazine “Josei Jishin”, Tamaki and Shimatani are currently the hottest new couple and this was met by a wave of excitement throughout Japan.
The two got to know each other through an acquaintance, a year ago and they became friends. Since both are signed up to the same record label, their first meeting was related to musical activities. Sometimes they went out for meals with a group of friends. However their friendship seems to have taken a new direction after the end of July, when Tamaki and the actress Rosa Kato broke up. The two became extremely close and after Hitomi’s busy summer schedule was over, they started dating steadily in September. Seems that their outings frequently involve going out to eat lunch or watching a movie.
Shimatani’s agency is claiming that the two are just good friends, while Tamaki’s management gave no comment, saying that it is a private matter and that it was his business, since he’s a “27-year-old man”

How cool! I just finished watching Nodame Contabile and thought Hiroshi Tamaki was *DREAMY*! They make a nice looking couple. :D

not if i take her first! it was suuuch a let down omg to see that, but then again, id love to see her married with someone that has a CHANCE at getting with her….hint hint 4 all yall out thea ;) just like hikki wen she was married, lol, BACK IN DAT DAY!!! hehe, but im just glad, it was mixed emotions reading that but oh well…theyre both 27, they cant b singing all the time anymore…they DO have lives ya noe…
