Hamasaki at Dandy Daddy Media Conference
On Thursday nights at 9pm, starting from July 9th, TV Asahi will air the drama series “Dandy Daddy“. The story will center around the romance novelist Ryunosuke Isaki and the theme song will be sung Ayumi Hamasaki from her new single, “Sunrise/Sunset ~ LOVE is ALL ~”.
The song was composed by a new composer in Ayu’s team, Hana Nishimura and arranged by CMJK. As always, Ayu would pen the lyrics.
This marks her first theme song tie-up with a drama since the 2003 release of “forgiveness”, approximately six years ago.
Ayumi created this song as a typical drama summer theme song. Ryuosuke Isaki is the hero of this love drama and he says that he wants to sing this theme song of love. Ayumi managed to achieve this surprise. The music has delighted the staff and actors. This summer song has managed to be a perfect fit for the drama.

Hamasaki in Popteen 2002
Despite the fact that this year is not yet over, Ayumi Hamasaki has already got huge plans for 2009. The popular diva has landed her biggest gig in her musical career. She been given the honor to create and sing the theme song for the upcoming Dragonball live-action movie, “Dragonball: Evolution“.
The Hollwood movie is based on the popular manga “Dragonball“, which was created by Akira Toriyama. The manga series has sold around 350 million copies worldwide. It was reported that the production costs for the movie were over US$100,000,000. The movie will be screened in Japan on March 13th and shall be released in America in April.
The theme song, which is already completed, is called “Rule“. This song is described to be a powerful rock number and it was sung in Japanese. Until now, no release date has been revealed. The movie shall be screened in over 60 countries and therefore the song shall be distributed worldwide. Therefore this shall be Hamasaki’s first international break.

Ayumi Hamasaki performing in Shanghai
Ayumi Hamasaki’s spectacular “Asia Tour 2008 ~10th Anniversary~” has finally arrived to a conclusion after six months of touring in Asia. Hamasaki and her staff spent three months in the preparation of her tour, with a total production fee of 8 million NT.
The tour officially kicked off on the 5th of April in Yoyogi Stadium and was concluded in Japan on the 29th June in the same venue. After a three month break, she resumed her tour performing in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei.
In Japan, Hamasaki performed 27 concerts in 10 cities. It was reported that 230,000 fans attended her concerts in Japan. She had 5 additional performances in three other cities in Asia. In total Hamasaki had 32 concers with a grand total of 280,000 fans attending her concerts.

Hitomi Shimatani promo for Parallel Movie
Hitomi Shimatani’s musical career has slowed down considerably in 2008, leaving many fans quite disappointed. Hitomi released only two singles, one album and one DVD. Furthemore her promotional campaigns for her releases were cut down considerably, making her appearances less frequent.
However 2009 is certainly sounding more promising especially since 2009 is set to be her 10th anniversary. avex trax has already started planning and unveiling her schedule to the public and it sounds quite exciting for Shimatani fans!
