Arashi’s highly anticipated single “Love so sweet” was released on 21 February 2007, Arashi’s first single of the year. After the debut of their title song “Love so sweet” on the popular dorama “Hana Yori Dango 2” all of Japan anxiously awaited the release of this single.

Another year is finally over and winter has returned again. For many fans of the J-Pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki, 2006 wasn’t an exciting year, at all. Ayu has only released two singles this year, spent most of her summer overseas and ended up with an eye infection in autumn, which has led her out of the spotlight up till mid-October when she appeared on Music Station and performed the song “JEWEL”.
A few days later avex announced that Ayumi Hamasaki was scheduled to release her second mini album. This announcement led to a huge disappointed reaction by her fans who had awaited eagerly for months for something more substantial. Mysteriously enough, shortly after this announcement avex made another one, changing the decision of a mini album to a full studio album. The album recording was completed on the 8th November 2006.

After half a year of inactivity, where music releases are concerned, Kitto Daijoubu was released – their first for 2006. Of course, that leaves fangirls super exciting, securing it’s #1 debut ranking on the Oricon charts. However, does the single itself actually deserve that #1 ranking?

Sawajiri Erika has been in the Japanese entertainment industry for quite a while. Since 1999, she’s been signed up with a talent promotions company, Stardust. This company is one of the largest and prominent agency in Japan. She was fairly popular and took part in various variety shows. However she only started attracting the widespread attention of the Japanese audience with her outstanding performance as Ikeuchi Aya in 1 Litre of Tears, in 2005. This dorama attracted many people internationally for its moving and heart-rendering plot.

SMAP starts out the year 2006 boldly with the release of their 39th single, “Dear WOMAN”. They’ve come a long way since their debut in 1991 and once again present to us a lively single–one that definitely stands out from their previous hits. Both of the songs included in this single are upbeat, which is a step out of their previous “Triangle”, a more mellow and serene song. Though the CD cover appears quite bland, don’t let its dull simplicity drive you away. To make up for their inactivity in 2004, SMAP proceeded to release three new singles in 2005, each with its own message. Now in April 2006, they welcome bliss – their “Dear WOMAN” – to Japan.
