Nearly 1 year after the official disbandment of bandoru group ZONE, an official website notice stated that a poll was up for fans to select three of their favorite non-single tracks from their discography. From the poll results, “ura E ~Complete B-side Melodies~” was born. Full of album and b-side tracks hand-picked by the most dedicated ZONE fans themselves, “ura E” was meant as a supplement to the original compilation, “E ~Complete A-side Singles~”. (“Ura”, which means “the other side”, is normally a term used in album titles in this manner, to indicate a compilation of songs other than single tracks.) The first press version offered a bonus 28 page booklet of pictures of the rehearsal and behind-the-scenes happenings from their final concert, “ZONE FINAL IN NIHON BUDOKAN ~Kokoro wo Komete Arigatou~”.

After playing the role of NANA and releasing a single posing as her, Nakashima Mika returned with “CRY NO MORE” a slow blues ballad that washes Blast (Oosaki Nana’s band) completely away from her. However, Nana herself isn’t completely washed off. Mika is set for a sequel for the movie which will start production soon. Also, her collaboration with HYDE in “GLAMOROUS SKY” has formed a deep friendship with him and might lead to more work together in the future. A small piece of evidence of future collaberations with him is that “CRY NO MORE” is the ending theme song to the anime “BLOOD+”, while HYDE’s latest single (released on the same day!) is the opening theme song. One has to wonder what this magical pair will work on in the future.

“SEASON’S CALL” is HYDE’s fourth #1 single, and it’s also the first time he’s had two #1 singles in a row! Like his previous single “COUNTDOWN”, “SEASON’S CALL” is being used as a theme song: this time for the TBS anime “BLOOD+”. What’s interesting to note is that the song is actually composed by KAZ (ex-Oblivion Dust, ex-Spin Aqua). KAZ has been co-producing with HYDE since his fourth single “HELLO” and is also a new addition to HYDE’s solo band as guitarist. So how does HYDE and KAZ fare together? Let’s see…
