| is it me or is the server stuffed up? I've been getting internal server error lately. I also notice loading the forum take a fair bit of time than usual. |

Our server is currently on VPS and there's a limit on memory and CPU load. I've been trying to minimize the hosting cost by lowering the memory and CPU limit to just about enough for 90% of the uptime. There's always memory and load spikes due to various factors and I would manually up the memory limit when it happens providing I have access to the server panel (I won't be when I'm at work). When memory spike happens, user will see those internal server errors. CPU load is usually fine but when spike happens, the load time will be long, but the page will most likely still load and you probably won't get any internal server errors. I've been doing various measures to lower the probability of memory and CPU spikes, such as banning bad IPs that keep hammering our server, most of these are search spiders.
Unfortunately, the affiliate program for YesAsia and CDJapan hasn't been doing too well especially since YesAsia switched to 3rd party tracking system. As for CDJapan, we are only getting 0 to 3 sales per month (with only 5% commission), which is quite bad IMO. This has effectively lowered our budget for hosting each month. If the program is doing better we could afford a higher budget for the server, which means higher memory limit and as a result, a more stable service for everyone. |

very sad, this is the first time i visit this thread... just only due to no any latest news and download bout ai in upper section. 
even though some term are not recognize by me such as spider search,VPS and CPU spike.
but it still sounds quite serious and troublesome from what eyn said.... ... anyway, i will order few otsuka cd's fro yesasia this december... (ai LOVE LETTER out at december sommore) ... hope it will help... good night~ |

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@channel-ai.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
This is the error message I've been getting for a while now, thought it was my internet, but I don't think so now. It only happens after midnight EST, I can log in, but that's about it, earlier hit the SUBMIT POST button, this came up, lost a long response.  Have no problems getting into any other sites after midnight or this site during the day, don't know if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks for listening, it's only been in last month since this problem arose, hopefully it'll go away! |

I get that too, but read eyn's post (the second post) it explains why that is.
I wonder if there's anything we can do to help with the server costs besides the YA and CDJ affiliation program. I know some forums take direct pay pal donations, but I don't know if that's something the Channel-Ai community wants ... |
