I'm trying out alan for the first time right now, I got her album Voice of EARTH. Her voice is definitely one of the most unique I have ever heard and she brings all these styles into her music ... definitely a new artist to listen to for a while Giggle

They really need to start releasing all these versions she does, in an album or something, Because some her songs sound really good in Chinese Love
well, they did release the chinese versions of Hitotsu, Ashita he no Sanka and Tokyo Mimei on the chinese Xin Zhan ~RED CLIFF~ single. but yeah, they should release more.
but then again, the chinese versions are the ones i listen to the least of her songs (except for Gasshou... and the chinese versions of the RED CLIFF songs are exceptions too). it's not really that much that i don't like listening to her singing in chinese as it is that i get used to the japanese versions and then i prefer those.
i'm usually like that. like i prefer BP's Ring a Bell over Kane wo Narashite, and Younha's Go! Younha album over Hye Seung, but at the same time Gieok over Kioku.

Haven't posted here in a while, thought I'd try to catch up on some alan news

This is kind of old but here's the PV for the Chinese version of the Red Cliff II theme song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErLq_bDaP10

And I have posted this performance of Nada Sou Sou before, but this is better quality
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYDRJzAfOzY

An interview (not sure exactly when but it should be some time after the release of Red Cliff Shin Sen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIOYrOdfMnI - Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ekB9m-4ySk - Part 2
I haven't seen this interview till tonight. I thought it was good as it show some clips of her audition with AVEX that I don't recall seeing and when she goes back to Tibet (I think after signing with AVEX) and she sings a tradition Chinese song, but I can't recall which song.

Red Cliff Shin Sen performance at A-Nation '08

Lastly but not least, the NEW PV for the Japanese version of the Red Cliff II theme song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx6xzDTqS2s

I don't mind this version. The feedback has been mixed. I personally like the Chinese version more because I'm just so use to listening to Chinese music since I was a little kid. She sings the Chinese version with higher notes. To me, this feels slightly watered down, but it does have it's own charms. I just feel the wailing is out of place but that's just what I think XD

Oh and the covers for the single are out
CD+DVD

CD Only

I like and don't like the covers. The poses are nice, especially the CD+DVD one, and alan's dress looks really glamorous. The location suits the dress as well BUT .. I wish they kept the original colors and had not messed around with the color/saturation settings. It makes it look like poor quality when it isn't suppose to be. Though I guess one could argue it makes it look aged and thus fitting into the movie ... or something like that XD

You're right, the Color Change wasn't the best idea at all, but I like the covers. alan is so beautiful in this dress. It looks like a blue version of the garment in "Gunjou no Tani" Giggle ! To the song, I really like it. It's another beautiful ballad from alan, emotional and really impressive, the PV is wonderful too! She is so pretty Love ! At least I have to say, I hope there is a Bonus Track on her upcomming single. I was very disappointed as I read that there was no one on "Red Cliff ~Kokoro Ikusa" and "Gunjou no Tani" Mad ... Oh, and does anybody know the sales from "Voice of EARTH"? I think it was on #14, wasn't it?

I adore the PV for Kuon no Kawa, but personally I prefer the Chinese version of the song. I like how she sings it in a higher octave. And I love the covers, and I wouldn't mind the color saturation so much if I never saw the promo pic where the colors are natural.

Thanks for all the info Sakuraangel Nod

The new PV is nice, & I also like the covers but everyone's right, they should of just left the colors alone. The songs better in Chinese and alan's one of the few artists that I'll listen to in Chinese since most of my music is in Japanese.

I decided to order Kuon no Kawa & Gunjou no Tani Embarassed Even though I already ordered Gunjou & then canceled Confused

I realized that I love Gunjou no Tani Love sooooo much. Especially the acoustic version Love So I shouldn't of canceled No

Especially since I went ahead & got Cds like Sora Uta when I only thought the Single was ok. Nod

The color settings were probably still changed in this one. Though it seems slightly brighter than the covers.

I think it reminds you guys of Gunjou no Tani because when they shot the Gunjou no Tani PV I think they decided to shoot photos for her upcoming album and promo/cover pictures for Kuon no Kawa at the same location ... or so I've heard.

^ it would make sense... Voice of EARTH and Kuon no Kawa aren't that far apart in terms of release, so it was probably easier on alan and her team to kill two birds with one stone Tongue (sorry for that expression, I just couldn't find a better one Laughing)

Another alan interview.

http://www.cdjournal.com/main/interview/interview.php?ino=250

Oooh and a really good interview with alan for those who can understand Mandarin (this must have been back when the Chinese version for Red Cliff II first came out in China
http://tieba.baidu.com/%E8%BE%BE%E7%93%A6%E5%8D%93%E7%8E%9B/shipin/play/a335d5c49234bf9a35114398/

- it's really long but it's so cute when alan realizes that Wei Chen calls in.
