| Yay! That's great! I think you're right. Natsukashii Mirai was #13, wasn't it? |

Happy to hear that alan has broken the top ten.
I'm still curious to know if she'll come out with another Chinese album. I really like Chi Bi and am a tad sad that there hasn't been a EP for it out in China.
Which leads me to something related and not ... I have really abstract thinking XD
I've been listening to her other Chinese cover album.
NOT this one
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheng_Sheng_Zui_Ru_Lan
there was another one, and that one had older Chinese songs ... songs my mother always listens to.
Then I was watching NHK last night (since they have interesting shows some times) and the show after the one I was watching was NHK song concert ... they mostly have Enka songs on there. Every time I hear Enka songs, I can't help but think that they are some what similar to some old traditional Chinese songs ... (IMO).
Anyways, I totally think that alan has the vocal/singing capabilities to sing an Enka style song, though I'm not sure if you have to be really familiar with the pronunciation of Japanese to truly pull it off.
Furthermore I'm not too familiar with Enka songs (and I know Nada Sou Sou doesn't count) but for those that do know, do you think alan can pull it off if she tried to cover an Enka song? And if you know a lot of Enka songs, which songs do you think she should sing?
There was a really pretty Enka song last night (when I was watching NHK), unfortunately I have no idea what the name of the song is. But if alan sang it, I'm sure it'd be just as pretty.
Oh yea for those that don't know what Enka songs, er I'll let wiki fill you in
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enka
and a random article about it (which I found really interesting)

^ uh... Sheng Sheng Zui Ru Lan is her first album... as the article says there was a re-release of it called Yu Jian Alan with different order and one extra song, though. that's the version i got.
and Kuon no Kawa is awesome, but i'm more used to Chi Bi ~Da Jiang Dong Qu~ and like that better.
and alan singing enka.... personally, i feel it'd be a waste of talent. i'm not a very big fan of enka... |

I think you're referring to Yu Jian alan. She doesn't have any other Chinese albums besides that and Sheng Sheng Zui alan, though really they're pretty much the same album. but yes I wish she'd release a new Chinese album sometime, but not like...Chinese versions of Voice of EARTH songs (though a Chinese ver. of BRAVE would be pretty cool ). |

I'm pretty sure she's going to release a chinese album with "Red Cliff" and "Chi Bi" in it. That would be pretty fine. But we just have to hope that it isn't a chinese version of "Voice of Earth" . But I'm optimistic !
Btw, "Kuon no Kawa" dropped on #10. I want to know the sales >.< |

Ten is still good!
I'd actually like to see her try enka, but on an album. Its sales would be so dismal as a single. Enka isn't my favorite thing, but I like hearing it in passing. It reminds me of old Viet folk, or any Asian folk for that music.
I would adore a duet with Hitomi Shimatani and alan though! I think their voices would go well together And Shimatani has already got the enka voice down! |

alan is going to release a new single, watch this:
Quote: Hot on the heels of her highest ranking single "Kuon no Kawa" alan is set to release her 10th single in June. The currently untitled single will be available in CD & CD+DVD editions, The title track will be the theme song for this year's NHK Eco campaign. A new version of "Natsukashii Mirai ~Longing Future" will be included in the single.

^ I heard about that the other day. Haha, the single isn't even out till June 24th and already it's up for pre-order on CDJ. I have yet to see it on YA though ...
Edit- As for the Enka thing, it's not like I was suggesting she sing Enka exclusively, that would be indeed a waste of her talent if she went in that direction. Plus Enka, back then and nowadays still only appeals to older audiences. I just think it'd be interesting if she covered a song or two as I think she's vocally capable of pulling it off. |

| alan's CDJournal Interview has finally been published. Sorry about the delay! The interview itself isn't too long actually since the entire second page was merely a biography and half of the third page was discussing the movie. And someone please kill the interviewer because he asked questions in the dumbest way possible. |

Thank you so much for the translation sljinu! I enjoyed the interview, although I find it strange the interviewer barely asked questions, simply made statements... |
