that's very true, I'm a kpop listener =X perhaps the only jpop songs I listen to are Ai's songs, and Tohoshinki's, sometimes a bit here and there.

The reason I've been following Ai's songs is because her 'natural' personality like you said. I like her for being herself.

You live in the north-eastern part of SG? Purple line? haha, that's cool. I've went there a few times and its really quiet in the night. For me, she accompanies me in the 1.5hr of bus ride to school, and another 1.5hr home. Smile

Wah, 1.5hrs!....U study in NTU? haha... Okie lar... My home there gt a large patch of green field, then near the sea, at night its so quiet that u can have a piece of serenity, without all the disturbance coming from cars and ppl its really enjoying, my fav song to play would be Haneari Tango, Sensu, Planetarium and Kurage-NagareBoshi, sometimes i would just sang out loud, haha....

oooh.. same here.. haha and my friends will make fun of the language Sad oh well, Neko ni Fuusen to the rescue~! Laughing

a recurring theme here, eh? Smile

there's one thing niggling though: that is, Ai-chan won't be as prominent as she is currently. not that it'll make too much a difference, but well, we've come to expect alot from her eh? Laughing

Nah, I'm not a clever person, haha, I just stay more towards the east side and you know bus rides often do detours. So plus waiting time and traffic, all and all its approximately 1.5hrs down to my school. I study at SIM btw. =]

After reading this thread, I thought of checking my Ai-Tune playlist. It's just been a little over a year since I first listened to Ai-chin and I don't know if I'm trying to set a record or something but my average play count for her songs is about 700-800. As of the moment, Cherish leads the charts with 1041 counts and closely followed by Planetarium with 980. Some other of my most played songs are Kumuriuta, Friends, 5:09a.m., and Sakuranbo. Call me crazy or paranoid, I don't care--- AI-CHIN SIMPLY ROCKS MY SOCKS. I never tire of listening to her voice, unlike other artists, which is probably her ultimate charm. Well, for one thing, I rarely shut down my computer and sometimes I leave my iTunes playing even when I'm out or asleep. And btw, I still listen to my other playlists too.

1041 and counting Smile

Wow, 1041 plays! My highest would be Planetarium (430 counts the last time my hard disk crashed, now everything was restarted =[), followed closely by Daisuki dayo, Amaenbo and Cherish. =D But recently I havent been listening to her old ballads.

yea, its truly amazing how ai-chin's songs have affected our lives. All the singles, albums, DVDs and stuffs, I dont even know much i have spent on all those. Each of her songs seems to have a direct impact on my mood and the very thing about it is I cant seem to ever grow tired of listening to her songs, be it upbeat or ballads. Maybe it all started on those long train rides to and fro from school 4 years back, in which it slowly grew on me.

Sakuranbo in the early morning when Im still half awake, kumuriuta on rainy days, hoshikuzu during rides late at night...The amazing thing is that, for me, no matter old or new songs, all her songs comes together into a single "playlist", there's no listening just to her new songs and gradually phasing out the old ones, which happens quite often for other artists.

uh huh... Boogie i usually play my ai-tunes on random, and there's no jarring difference between the "old" and the "new" ai chan. sure, the lyrics have been much more matured lately, but the feeling of listening to her songs are pretty much still the same.

since she usually writes with real life as a reference, maybe we're just as much growing up with her eh? Tongue

how does Ai affect my life? hhmm..I actually never thought about it before. but I guess, after listening to her music and spending so much time listening to it, my outlook on life became brighter.

with songs like Happy Days and PEACH I started to believe that there was a brighter side to everything again and that it wasn't always good to be negative and cold. and just as I was riding a high like cherry blasters on her music, she brought me back down to earth with songs like Kumuri Uta, and she taught me again that life is not always butterflies and unicorns. she really changed me is what I;m saying, I guess. Tongue

Well, it's affected me and I would think others, by us joining a site like this. Smile I've learned so much more about Ai and her music, Love plus so many new singers and groups from Japan and have sort of met a lot of new and interesting people Laughing ... Ai has sort of brought quite a few of us together, that's how I view how Ai has affected my life... and it's all positive too! Nod

Ai-chan totally changed my life. I started to collect everything from her, and now I have every song, every PV, many lives and many pictures too. Her music is so much different from the other japanese artists I like too. Her music helps me in my life. When I am depressive or sad, I always listen to "Sakuranbo" or "Happy Days" and I think "Hey, to be sad don't brings you forward. Think positive!". Her ballads help me to fall asleep easier and her lyrics are so beautiful. I started to collect the best passages of the lyrics of her songs, print them out and glued them into a little book. Everytime when I'm sad, I look into this book and her lyrics makes me strong.
and I can't listen to her music when I'm learning. Her beautiful voice and her songs would divert me from learning Laughing ...
Other "facts"
· I started to draw again! I stopped drawing for a while, but now I started it again. Mostly I draw Love-chan and other pictures, impressed from her songs
· I started to sing a lot for my self, while downloading her instrumentals and collecting her song textes
· I became acquainted with new people!

And last but not least
I'm happier with her music and I try to support her as much as I can!

I couldn't agree more!

I almost always fall asleep and wake up to my set-list titled Aichan no Ballads, I almost always work out to my setlist called Ai-chan no Work-out da yo!, and usually listen to one or the other or Ai-chan no B sides as I commute or do work around the house. Ai-chan travels with me on business trips (via one or more of her concert DVDs) every time I fly. It is fun for me to see people sitting near me look on with interest, I am always happpy to share her information. I think I have made some strangers into fans Boogie

Oh yeah... I usually keep a concert DVD going on during work since it helps keep me calm and happy when the office is chaotic and busy! One might say that I am an Ai-aholic! Giggle I might struggle if I had to get through the days without her... Nod

I admire Ai an awful lot, and it's not just because she's sooo much prettier than me haha...
I wrote in a post yesterday that her music always cheers me up. That's true. And of course she is awsomely cute, too... and also fresh, inventive, surprising, and truly skilled with melodies and arrangements. There's an awful lot to love about her, and her songs last a long time for me, too!

These days, Ai's music has been how I've spent lots of evenings... playing her songs, and poking around the web. She's been keeping me "energized" haha... I use her music to recharge when I'm tired, to celebrate when I'm feeling energetic, and to comfort me when I feel a little stressed or down.

Ai-Chan is also one of the few J-Pop artists who manages to avoid sinking into what we call "Easy Listening" music over here. Her songs aren't the kind of songs that I want playing in the background while I'm at a store or a restaurant. They're more interesting than that, and I really like giving her songs my attention.

I think I recover lost brain cells by listening to Ai haha.
