aiko is #1!?
I squealed when I saw that!
It seems that many Americans do not know of aiko, and instead know more about Ai. Part of this is probably becasue Ai has a "cuter" face than aiko (  ) , and Ai is 7 years younger than aiko. I have read many rude comments about aiko saying that she is ugly, what is wrong with her nose, etc, etc. I think that aiko is beautiful and just as cute-if not cuter-than Ai. *please don't kill mee*
But that is what it seems that Americans like...not that it's shallow...but a cute face is a promotion in it's own. And that applies to any country.Thus, because people saw/listened to Ai first, they claim that aiko copies Ai, or that aiko reminds them of Ai. It should be the other way around, aiko has been in the business for almost eleven years now (twelve if you count her indies days.), and Ai 6. I don't think that either copied the other, but aiko is a very professional singer. I hope she gets more recognition in America...
BAH, I don't really know what I'm trying to get at. 
I agree that Ai should have been placed higher, but congrats on being in the top 10! |

I do have that issue, nice spread on Aiko,  I know have a few Americans who know her, but not too many. If they had another poll today, wonder what the top 20 would look like and how many from then would still be in the top 20? |

01. Aiko - a possibility...considering she finally has her first #1 album this year...
02. Hikaru Utada - definitely....
03. Mr.Children - one of the easy favourites...
04. Porno Graffitti - starting to slow down....
05. B'z - they're sorta ok...
06. BoA - Kinda Americanized...but still popular...
07. Southern All Stars - Who?
08. Spitz - Who?
09. Otsuka Ai - Who? just kidding lol...but she's not entirely active this year...the best she can do is probably at the END of this top 20 list...
10. Mika Nakashima - ...in a similar situation as Ai-chan.
11. Dreams Come True - possible Top 20
12. Masaharu Fukuyama - Who?
13. Kou Shibasaki - ..........NAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....maybe KOH+
14. Ken Hirai - not as popular as when he released Pop Star
15. Chemistry - not as popular...
16. Exile - dam popular...possibly #1 or #2
17. KinKi Kids - top 20...
18. Ayumi Hamasaki - .......no comment, also in same situation as Ai-chan, but would easily regain popularity by going out to the streets and causing a ruckus...so...you can still expect her being Top 20
19. Smap - after that "incident"...not entirely too sure...

Gotta agree with most, lot of boy/male bands at the top, don't know why they are that popular.  Perfume could be higher and Ayu would be there, sounds like you also read about the "street riot" she was involved in.  |
