I'm one of the proud owners of this great DVD. And i just wanted to have alittle disscussion on the DVD. Like about the song selection, people's favorite songs, little things that bothered them, or other stuff.
One thing i kinda noticed was that the crowd didn't really seem into it. Maybe it's just me. Like when they show shots of the crowd they seem so...boring.
Another thing that was kinda dumb, when you start up the DVD has that selection thingy (iunno if it's in the normal edition) but i got it right the first time so it wasn't any fun for me, now it's just kinda like a time waster. That'd be more fun if it was random.
I think my favorite preformance was probably kingyohanabi and daisuki dayo. They were just really good. And the member shoukai was pretty cool. I really liked that bass solo.
I was really dissappointed that they didn't use any filters, expect on pon pon. BUt that kinda a dumb song anyways. =b |

| I thought the crowd was okay. At least they participated when Ai wanted them to sing along or cheer. |

i thought Ai's live singing for fast songs were really quite bad, esp near the end of the concert ..she sounded great on slow songs like Cherish though |

Well at the end she was exhausted. And it was encore parts, it's a gift so we can forgive her
what bother me is that bidama wasn't scheduled in the concert part. So we didnt see Ai-chin in her cute blue dress (like in the secret movie part) |

Well, what I can say is most of you guys are not really giving the reply that are expected from such a thread. Now let me do this topic justice by replying some points that CETMA has made there.
First of all, the concert is very sweet right from the start to the end, I keep watching until everything's over. First thing that impress me the most is the song sequence for the concert. Using Mousou CHOP as the intro is not bad at all, even though it didn't really create a huge impact. Then you have some rather neutral song in the middle of the concert and a series of rock song near the end, even the encore are filled with rock songs too! I'm not sure if that's the way it's usually done, but it's just kinda weird to me to focus all rock songs near the end, like bringing the audience to the climax then use "Always together" to suddenly cool down everyone and say sayonara. Here I'm comparing ayu's concert with ai's one. I'm not saying this type of arrangement is bad but heh, that's just quite different for me and I think it works out well.
My favourite song... I think it would be the Kingyo Hanabi piano solo, that's just amazing and it shows how good Ai is as a multi-talented singer. I've seen that PON PON seems to be hated the most by many other fans, but I really like the live performance of it as Ai looks really cute running around and keep saying "pon pon...". The best part is "ru ji ka o me yu i ma", where she dance quite amusingly.
For her band, I like the guy who plays the guitar (the baseball player in the member intro), and I hate that red shirt guy who plays the big drum during one of the songs. He's jumping around like a monkey and make all those stupid facial expression.
Anyway, this DVD is really interesting and people who haven't gotten it yet, I would say it will be the best spent 40 US dollar you can ever make. Get the deluxe, and enjoy the extra! |

that guy is really hyperactive, providing entertainment for the crowd-_-. after he finsh druming, i saw him throwing the stick and was just about to hit one of the guitarist |

Well it's the duty of an admin to start seriously this kind of topic
First of all the introduction has surprised me too, i expected to heard Pretty Voice or superman because there are the intro's song of her album (in fact mousou was useful has to introduce otsuka, the concert really starts with pretty voice. I explain myself : for me a concert starts with the first contact between the singer and the public and in this case , it is when she shouts "yay" at the beginning of pretty voice ).
But Mousou CHOP is a good choice because in order to boost the public they need to surprise them and put some some strong song. As alternative she could have chosen Sakuranbo or Pon Pon (for now she didn't have a lot of song which can make a good opening). But she used Sakuranbo to finish the concert part (well i assume it's because she started her career with this one so sakuranbo became a symbol or something like that ). And i think she placed pon pon in the medium of the five fast music to rest her voice. Pon pon is a lively song but it doesn't ask too much effort at the vocal level (furthermore it makes it possible to the public to take part and to the musician to express their talent).
For the course of the concert, I suppose that was done to facilitate the setting of the live(must be difficult to arrange the concert to be able to change clothing all the time). So she decided to make three parts. First she made the concert hall more lively. Then, she subjugated the public. And to finish, she burst them with some strong songs.
it works really well on me.
To finish, the only thing planned for the "Encore" part was the dancers of smily i think. Each time she had to sing smily and bidama (she released the single right before the concert) then finished according to the climax. This live was the last one that's why she sang "Always together" at the End. add to "friends", they are the only true ending songs which she has for the moment. However "always together" is much more moving and is on the first album
Oh by the way i like the "oji-san" whom uses keyboard ( in fact its because he made fun of Ai-chin at the bowling parts ^^) and the guy at the bass too ( he looks like really cool )
I really enjoy all the live so i don't really have a best part ; or perhaps cherish and kuroge wagyu but it's because i really love this two songs.
PS : I'm french. So please excuse me for my bad english. i gave you my best shot! loll |

Ah! i was just at kinokuniya today and didn't see this DVD anywhere. They had SMILY/Biidama CD+DVD, and her two albums without DVD. However, I did see a magazine with Ai and this guy on the cover, forgot the magazine, and it wasn't that "Hiroki"? or something dude. Blah...got Yaida Hitomi's "Air/Cook/Sky" instead...one of the cheapest CDs there... |

All right...my turn! I got this DVD almost two weeks ago but have been too distracted to watch it and give it the full attention it deserves. But last night was the night for me!
I thought the intro was just all right. I've never heard that song before and the way they did it was a little weird for me, but I guess that's Ai's style, right? For some reason I really smiled when "Kataomoi Dial" started, even though I've only heard it once. I think she did a good job with that one. I thought "Friends -Sakaban Version-" was just ok, but I think that because after a week of playing it endlessly all day I'm getting a little bored with it. The next song that really left an impression on me was the one performed after "Kuroge Wagyuu...680-en" (I don't know the title because I've never heard it before, I can't read Kanji and I'm too lazy to look up the title ). I don't remember why, and I don't even remember what it sounds like, but I just remember thinking, "Wow, this song is really great." I LOVED "Kingyo Hanabi" and "Amaenbo". Once Ai-chan sat down at that piano, I just melted. I love the piano. "Cherish" is another song that I think I'm going to have to listen to a lot more, because I loved it and I've also never heard this. (If you guys are wondering, it's because I've only watched Ai's PVs and performances. I don't download albums or other .mp3's... ) I liked "SUUPAAMAN", and "PON PON" was so playful and fun. I liked "Happy Days", and I was pleased with "Sakuranbo" because normally it seems like it drags on forever and I get sick of it by the end, but this time I wasn't bothered. I thought it was so cute how Ai gave (or at least tried to give) all of the SMILY dancers hugs at the end. Normally they look so miserable and humiliated to me, but they seemed at least a little happy or giddy to be up there. "Biidama" normally irritates me a little for some reason, but I don't really remember feeling anything negative when she performed it. I thought "Always Together" was a good way to end the concert. It's kind of like Ai's saying to her fans, "We may be here for only one night, but we're always together in our hearts." (Ok, maybe that's a little cheesy but I thought it's kind of sweet.) And I can support that claim by mentioning that it took her forever to get off that stage at the end when she was saying her goodbyes.
Overall, this was a really great DVD. It kept my attention for most of the time, but I think I was getting a little antsy at the end (it was the early hours of the morning when I watched it and I don't think I was up for listening to "Sakuranbo" another time...). I was really impressed because I liked EVERY SINGLE song, and that's a good sign for me as a new Ai fan. I think it means I'm going to love her CDs even more. I MUST order those soon!
EDIT: And I forgot to mention, I thought the psychotic guy in the jumpsuit was HILARIOUS! I think he really belongs in Ai's band. |

i just ordered it off of yesasia, and it should be here any day now! but anyway, even though i've never seen the performances *just heard them* i have some things to say about each song:
mosou chop- was she even singing the 'techno' parts, or just the regular parts, like the chorus and stuff
pretty voice- this kinda struck me confused. she sounded really..boring in this song. i'm sorry to say. But uually, when she sings these kind of songs live, she makes random noises, like just screaming out of the blue
kataomoi dail- even though i 100% dread this song, this was an extremely job! her voice was just as it was in the album
momo no hana bira- in my opinion, i think she should've doen the piano version of it. i like the piano one better also, she was really quiet, you heard the instruments playing over her
friends- honestly, i know it must be really extremely hard and difficult to sing those really lous parts at the end(the parts like 'sayanora te' and stuff) but i really tyhink it sounded like she was just...screaming her lungs out. i think this was the part she lost her voice a little.
koroge wagyuu- i think this one was really perfect. her vocals in that matter *because i didn't see the vid yet*
himawari- seeing as this is a really fast song, the piano version doesn't sound as good as the original version. but its still really pretty. just not as good
amaenbo- wow. this one... i just listen to over and over again to get everything off my mind. it's a really really angelic song when it's in in piano version. very pretty
kingyo hanabi- i really love how she played the whole thing just in piano before she sang it. very beautiful, this is already a beautiful song ^^..and at the end, the guitar fits in well with the rest of the song
cherish- so great. soooo great i've always loved this song, and i've been waiting sooo long to hear it live. and now that i have, i got way more than what i expected. so perfect.
daisuki da yo- daisuki da yo is my favorite song. and live, it's just like the original. sooo pretty. and really great instruments
super man- lol it was really funny in this song when she was saying 'yayayyyy' in a really low voice!
girly- i never really hear much of this song, except for the fact that it's on he Love Punch album. but i'm sooo glad she did this song live. it's a really good song.
ponpon- i think i'm the only one in this forum that likes this song but anyway, this was really good live. i really liked good. good to dance to. rock on, aichan!!
happy days- i liked this one live. i just didn't like how she wasn't saying the 'happy days' parts >< she left that to the background singers...
sakuranbo- seeing as this is one of her most popular songs, the audience was crazy. I really liked how she let the audience sing the chorus, though. so sweet of her
smily encore- very well performed. but not as energetic as i thought it would be. at the end of the song, i heard only half of the audience clapping and cheering
bidama encore- this song never really..erm..caught my interest. so this one was kinda boring for me
sakuranbo encore- hmm..kinda the same as the first one. but it was really weird in the begoning when the piano was playing oh and when she was doen, she was like 'wooooooooohhhh' in a really high voice! she's sooo cute our aichan ^-^''
happy days encore- it was cute in the beginning when she said 'HAPPY DAYSUUU!' but just like sakuranbo, just the same as the first ><
always together- this one makes me cry when ai starts crying. because what would we do without aichan??? tears of joy, in other words. also, when there is a big pause and she said 'arigatou' it soesn't even sound like her voice! i also liked how at the VERY end when she came out without a microphone, and screamed 'ARIGATOOOOU!!!!' that makes me cry too.
yeah, those are my opinions on all the songs *cracks knuckles* |
