Quote: Japanese broadcasting corporation NHK will be hosting a whole new level of their annual New Years’ Red-White Battle or Kouhaku Uta Gassen. Even though viewership is slipping, they’ve brought in 53 performers (last year was 58) but all performers are supposedly the best of the best in Japan.
Among that list are SMAP, Koda Kumi, Ayumi Hamasaki and the most highly publicized of all TVXQ. NHK was also able to grab Mr. Children, a long awaited special performance that has failed in previous years. So far things are looking up.
The variety show is consisted of a boy (white) VS girls (red) battle that lasts throughout the evening until midnight. The last three years have been won by the white team, but with the elite of Japan there, the tables may turn.
Red Team: AI, aiko, Namie Amuro, ayaka, Angela Aki, Ikimonogakari, AKB48, Every Little Thing, Otsuka Ai, GIRL NEXT DOOR, Kato Miliyah, Kimura Kaela, Kuraki Mai, Koda Kumi, Shiina Ringo, JUJU (JUJU with JAY'ED), Superfly, Takahashi Mariko, Nakashima Mika, Nakamori Akina, Perfume, Hamasaki Ayumi, Hitoto Yo, MINMI, Morning Musume.
White Team: Aqua Timez, Arashi, w-inds, EXILE, KREVA, Gospellers, Kobukuro, Kazuyoshi Saito, SEAMO, SID, SUKIMA SWITCH, SMAP, Tsuruno Takeshi, TVXQ, Tokunaga Hideaki, AAA, BEGIN, Riyouiti Higuti, Hirai Ken, FUNKY MONKEY BABYS, Fukuyama Masaharu, Akira Fuse, Porno Graffiti, Yusuke.

and ooh... Morning Musume made it back in again. after being there 10 successive years (and really going out with a bang 2007) they didn't get to go there 2008. i wasn't really expecting them to be back with their declining sales...

I'm glad Ai-chan is on the list . Team Red seems very powerful, along with my dears Miliyah Kato, Koda Kumi, Mika Nakashhima, Perfume and Ayu  . Can't wait to watch their performances . |

Probably never. She's one of the artists who makes a point in not performing in Kouhaku, but would happily to CDTV New Years show or Music Station Super Live. |

| Actually, this is not the "official" Kouhaku list. This is only oricon's prediction on who will be invited to this year's show. The official listing will be posted later on NHK's official site, which is the company that broadcast the show. |

Maybe one of 「LOVE is BEST」 album, it will probably the new song 「Is」 or any of the new recording songs.
I don't think 愛ちん will sing 「バイバイ」.  |
