My favorite game is Resident Evil series, no one can compare to this game (for me  )
I played this series from beginning in Nitendo64 until Rsident Evil IV came on PS2,
zannen desu! the fiftth series only on PS3 that i can't have it, PS3 still very expensive ! 
Btw I really like with the second series in PSone, the story and gameplay is the best than other series despite still not HD

Ps2 is beggining to die  ...a lot of japanese games that were exclusive for ps2 are releasing new titles just for ps3 |

I'm surprised I haven't posted here till now. 
I'd have to say my favourite game without a doubt is Final Fantasy VII This game is absolutely brilliant, a true masterpiece. One of the best musical scores ever for a game, absolutely loveable characters, a villian who redefines cool, and a brilliant and engaging storyline. This game has it all, when it first came out the graphics were state of the art and was just so far ahead of anything else at the time it's scary.
Next favourite would be Star Ocean 2, a really nice rpg, with great musical and a massive amount replayability and hidden quests, secret scenes and multiple endings.
Finally a little known wonder, first Ever 17 ~ The out of infinity. This is a visual novel game, and wow, it completely changed my perspective on visual novels and story telling methods. The real key to this game is that slowly when you play ( and more importantly when you replay ) the game you begin to learn more and more about the story and characters in it. It is really amazing how well everything fits together, and how eventually all the clues you get build up to something that is quite extraordinary. I really love this game
The rest I'll just list, Harvest Moon, Haunting Ground, Clock Tower series, Legend of Kartia, Dragonstrike, Ephemeral Fantasia. |

It's a real toss up for me, I really like Trusty Bell (Eternal Sonata in America) for the XBox 360 and the Persona series of RPGs for the PS2
Okami for the PS2 is also another favorite game of mine |
