official website: www.mikanakashima.com
Some info:
Always wanted to be a singer, and quit high school to pursue her dream.
Even before her debut, she used the symbol of the lotus flower to identify herself.
Her second single "CRESCENT MOON" was limited to only 300,000 copies and sold out the first date of its release.
First artist to sell over 30,000 units in Korea, beating ayu and Hikki.
Has been dubbed the new Queen of Japanese Music by some of the Japanese press, which also reports a rivalry with the one and only Ootsuka Ai!!
Currently:
Mika's currently promoting her latest single "CRY NO MORE" and getting ready for the production of the "NANA" sequel!
Current Single:
"CRY NO MORE" -- Mika returns as herself with the blues track "CRY NO MORE" on sale 2006.02.22! "CRY NO MORE" is being used as the ending theme song to the TBS anime "BLOOD+", while HYDE's (with whom she worked with for "GLAMOROUS SKY") latest single will be used as its opening theme song and be released the same day!
Current Album:
Her latest album "BEST" releases December 7th and features a new version of AMAZING GRACE and new vocals of STARS as well as the NANA single "GLAMOROUS SKY". First press comes with slip case and picture disc. A best clip selection also titled "BEST" and having the -same exact cover...- will be released on 12.28 as well. It will contain three new clips: AMAZING GRACE `o5, oborozukiyo~inori, and BLOOD -live-.

I love Nakashima Mika. She has a smooth and silky voice, and sings jazzy-type songs. I guess some young people outside Japan would dub her music as "old-type" music and would fail to give her a chance. She's very talented, and the only thing I have against her is that her face is so emotionless at times! In her music videos, she always has the same face! No matter, because the music is spectacular and her voice always shines. Here are some of my favorite songs for download:
(In anticipation of BEST, original "album versions" of the "`o5" vers, below through megaupload, YSI, AND rapidshare)
AMAZING GRACE |MU| |RS| |YSI|
STARS |MU| |RS| |YSI|
Bonus: CRESCENT MOON |MU| |RS| |YSI|
and also be sure to check out this thread by eVe for Mika PVs!
Enjoy and feel free to post whatever Mika-related things here!

she's really unique in japan..i mean she don't look like a japanese person(because she got her contacts) and her songs and even her pv are very special as well
i just like her and kind of in to her lately because of NANA..i reckon she suits that character alot..and the character and her got silmar things..
her first two album sold over 1 million copies..and her third album sold over half an million...that's is a really good selling..(beat otsuka ai) |

I love Mika Nakashima! I bought "LEGEND" earlier this year and fell in love with the song, so then I bought "MUSIC"! I really like her style of music. It's so unique...there's just no one like her. |

| I use to like her alot until after the release of "Seven", then her music started to suck. Her "True" and "Love" album was excellent, but "Music" was horrible. On her "Music" album she tried new stuff, like rock, which sounded horrible. |

Yeah, her PVs are really cool, not typical of most J-singers. I really like the video for "hi no tori", that one is my favorite. I also like the PV for "sakura-iro mau koro", even though there wasn't really any real people in it, it was cute. The only PVs I don't really like from her are "seppun" because it kinda creeped me out with the whole "Mika as a butterfly" thingey. They took it too far.. And "SEVEN" because her oh-so-skinny legs really creep me out. I wish I could get her some food...
Yes, sakura, I think Nakashima Mika was a very good choice to play Nana, although I think it was a risk, considering how poor her acting skills were in the first movie she starred in (I've read...) But, she physically looks like Nana, and from what I've seen from the trailors and CMs, she does a good job acting like her, too. They do have a lot in common, including the same favorite designer (Vivienne Westwood). Actually, Mika started reading the manga BECAUSE they had the same fav. designer. They both also have a Vivienne Westwood ring. Weird, but cool, isn't it? I imagined Nana's voice to be a lot edgier than Mika's silky one, but it's impossible to find the perfect Nana package.
A good site to go to is www.nana-nana.net. It's a NANA fansite, but because of the movie, it's almost entirely about Mika. Also, the PV for "GLAMOROUS SKY" and the song "ISOLATION" is also available for d/l on the site, so I don't have to upload it Unless someone has trouble with .avi files and needs an mpeg, then I'll do it. |

I was impressed by "glamorous day" because she rarely sings rocky song, and i thought her vocal doesn't allow her to do so but i was wrong. I just hope she can have some rocks in her coming singles or album.
By the way, i uploaded Glamorous Day PV, hope you guys will like this. |
