^ Thanks.

Reflection sounds techno-ish. I think I like the interlude that was on Voice of Earth more, tennyo.

Both songs are nice, but nothing special as well. "reflection ~overture~" is definitely a good intro for the album, but I think everybody agrees with me when I say that "Tennyo" is ages better. "One" sounds ok for me, but it is such a typical alan-song...

No one is talking about her album =(

This isn't a good sign.

I think if you compare it to the first album many will be disappointed. I'm really stressed about life in general right now, but mostly school and work. I found this album to be relaxing and something that I needed this weekend. The second half of the album is definitely songer though there were some good songs (IMO) on the first half of the album. As expected I did like "One." I like the piano in "見つめていたい" but it was boring in the middle of the song, on the other hand I think the beginning and ending the song is pretty. There was only one song on the whole album that I found annoying and that was "Call My Name." Everything else wasn't bad IMO. The album ended more on an epic note. I think alan and her team was trying to get way from too much epic ballads on this album, that's probably why there's more fluffy songs.

^ okay, so i just started downloading the album... from my previous statement, my excitement for it was lowered quite a lot, but i've still been looking forward to it.
but that's not the main reason i haven't gotten around to do it earlier. besides being busy IRL, for some strange reason i haven't really felt any urge to listen to new releases. i have only heard a handful of the songs from Shibasaki Kou's new album, and i haven't even touched LOVE's mini album. hmm
i'm finding myself listening to audio books instead (captivated by the Wheel of Time). and Tokyo Jihen, lol.

but i will take a listen to it soon.

OMG, Wheel of Time, I didn't think anyone else besides my friend could get through that series but than reading and listening to audio books is different ...

Actually I don't know what I should say about this album. It wasn't THAT BAD, but it's a big disappointment if you compare it to her first album. I like "Lost Child", "One" and "my life" a lot, because they aren't as boring than the rest of the album Sneeze.

Okay, I just listened to the album, so here are some first impressions:
I don't really get the immense hate my life has gotten in some places. It isn't really a bad album, it's just... Not that interesting. But it has a very pretty sound to it, and alan's vocals are great as always.

At first I was a littled miffed that they were moving alan away from the folk/traditional style of Voice of Earth, but I guess they want to experiment a bit. And that's okay, it's a good thing even. Because while I liked VoE, it didn't hold my interest for very long. I can see that they want to give alan a more mature pop sound, and that can really work for her if she gets the right songs. So, while my life is very generic, it has plenty of potential. I mean, alan is still young, and she can still have a great career ahead of her!

My favorite songs on the album were 見つめていたい, Lost Child, Nobody knows but me and the singles (except Swear). If we get more songs like that in the future, and more songs like Ashita no Sanka e and Gunjo no Tani, we could get a truly great album!

Currently though, my life isn't very high up on my "must buy"-list, but I'll have to give it a few more listens before I make up my mind.

My life is a very very very bad album . I just can't undestand why she did this . i will hate what avex does with alan . where is the "Ashita e no sanka" singer? i just like my life and kuon no kawa. i'm very desapointed. I love alan , she is just a wonderful singer with the most powerful voice i know but i don't want to listen this album again. i wait for something better from her.

Having listened through my life some more now, I've actually changed my mind. I still see it as a rather generic album, but, as I said earlier, it has a pretty sound to it. And that sound is really attractive to me. What I'm saying is that I actually really like it. It's something pleasant to have playing in the background while you're doing something, with a couple of songs that makes you stop and listen. All they need for the next alan album is more of those songs that makes you listen! Maybe a mix of Voice of Earth and my life, where they balance the mix of traditional/folk-sounding songs and the more modern pop songs...

Either way, I'm very intereseted in hearing what alan comes up with in the future.

This is the point I don't like about "my life".

I thought alan's music was thoughtful and deep music, which makes you thinking about a wide range of things. "my life" is just plain and boring, you can replace her with any other singer and you wouldn't hear a difference.

Anyway, "my life" is on #14 today.

Honestly, I've never considered alan's music to be any more thoughtful or deep than whatever else is on the charts these days. Though I can appreciate that she sings a lot of songs with peace and love as the main themes. But it isn't alan who writes the music, so quality is going to vary a lot depending on who is writing her songs at the moment. The thing that attracted me to alan in the first place was her voice, and she certainly hasn't lost that, which is why I'm still interested in her. Um yeah, I kind of forgot what point I was trying to make Confused *fail* So I'll just end this post by saying that I disagree that my life is boring, it's just a bit on the slow side and takes some getting used too. Smile

Sad i can't believe alan released this album, what was she thinking? and i bet when she was recording most of the songs she fell asleep halfway through. most of them are so boring and alan herself sounds bored and uninterested except for in my life & ballad No oh alan.. please don't release another album like this
