alan plays a role in what gets released but since she's still relatively a new artist don't think she has all that much power, so I think her role in this was very small. Ultimately I feel this was AVEX and her image team's decision to release something like this. There have been people out there wanted her to do more mainstream stuff just to get another audience/hopefully gain more popularity/be more accepted in the industry. I wasn't one of these people, as I like her music for what it is. But every artist will either experiment or asked to experiment for the sake of evolving.
I don't think this album was an entire disaster. I can see that the production is lacking just like her official debut Mandarin album but the vocals are still there and it does end with some strong songs. One has to remember she has a lot more new songs on this album compared to her first. In her first album there was more than a year to develop that album and if I remember right that album's release was even pushed back at one point. I feel they may have been a bit hasty with the production of this album and people may have been rushed to write songs for her on this album (I'm not entirely sure how AVEX goes about picking songs for alan or how much alan gets a say in picking what songs she gets to sing). I think it's interesting to consider how much power or how much of a say alan has over her music career right now.
At this point and time I'd sit and wait to see what she releases in the future.
And I feel this second album of hers is meant for light listening ... but that's just what I think. |

i love songs that aren't so complicated all the time and are for "light listening" but the songs on this album are mostly cringe-worthy so i can't even listen to them while falling asleep because they're just so bad. (i tried it and had to get up and switch to my ai otsuka ballad playlist to fall asleep to instead)
i'm just going to have to hope in the future she won't release more songs like these  |

OMG another release (I'm referring to the two other releases I found out about today, Younha and GND). Anyways, my life acoustic version! Do want. I hear the Essence of Me will have a tie-in with Inuyasha. And they will probably do a different arrangement as this is labeled single version.
Don't forget the Over the clouds has a tie-in with GOD EATER ... is this a double A-side then? It'll definitely bring alan a lot of exposure. |

I just heard the preview of "Over The Clouds", I hope it sounds better than the songs from the album  . I can't wait for the Acoustic Version of "my life", I like this song a lot . |

I'm kind of suprised we get e new release so soon. But I'm not complaining 
What little I've heard of "Over The Clouds" sounds interesting. It also seems like they've stepped up alan's promotion, what with all the tie-ins she's been getting. That's good though, she deserves some recognition! |

Okay so I've been reading in the Chinese forums that apparently the song for Inuyasha will be titled "Diamond"
this is actually according the official site of Inyusha (for this particular season for the series, which is actually titled Inuyasha The Final Act (犬夜叉 完結編).

However ANN is usually right (but they don't update quickly, so maybe this was a bit of a last minute change?)
According to ANN the song is suppose to be "Essence of Me" and will start at ep 10

Usually in an anime of 26 (from the ones I've seen, if they do go through with a OP/EP theme change they would do it at the ep13 mark.
I looked up the Inuyasha episode on various Chinese streaming sites, the most currently one I can find was episode 10 and it still had the AAA theme "With You" for the ending. I heard the episode with Diamond has aired but I haven't seen anything. If that was true, it should have been up on Chinese communities by now since some of them have satellite TV.
I'll keep an eye out for it but I'm busy this weekend writing papers that I absolutely must get done.
My question now is is this a triple A-side single? or will it just be a double A-side with over the clouds/Diamond and then Essence of Me (single version) being an extra song along with my life (acoustic version). ... maybe she'll turn this into a mini-album >.<
I have also heard Essence of Me is being tied-in with One Piece (I guess that would be the One Piece movie that is coming December 12? One Piece Film Strong World (movie 10). It's the only One Piece related release I know of). But according to the official site of that movie, Mr.Children is doing the theme song.

LOL so this renamed "Essence of Me" to Diamond.
Who is involved in Diamond
Lyrics : Huzibayashi Seiko (He wrote "Kissing you" for BoA)
Composer : Kazuhito Kikuchi
Arrangement : ats-
Since the song got re-arranged by ats- (they are re-naming the song or because they didn't like the song title)
There is no tie-in with One Piece because someone had mistranslated Kazuhito's (the composer of the song) blog. I knew it! Because when I looked last night Mr.Children is the one doing the theme song XD
Anyways, I guess the song did air on Inuyasha The Final Act ep 11. I have to go look for a link.
So the new single is probably over the clouds/Diamond double A-side.
According to her official site, "over the clouds" will be the opening song and "my life" will be the ending song. I am not sure if they are using "my life (acoustic version)" or the original "my life" but it'd be nice if they use the acoustic version ...
