did any one hear abt a Jpese Movie "Nana"??
my friend told me .... Nakashima Mika's gonna be in the movie...
but .....actually..i dun really know abt the details of it..
just wondering if there is anyone knows sumthing abt this movie.~ |

| HEHE There are tons of details about the movie at nana-nana.net. I myself have never read the manga but I've heard that it's very good. I only know it by Ai (her song Cherish for nana) |

AH~! I LOVE the comic. But, it's only available in Chinese, Japanese, French, and Italian, I think. I have the Japanese scans, since I'm too cheap to actually BUY it...There aren't any scanlations in English on the net, since it's recently been liscensed to VIZ and is featured in the new manga-magazine "Shojo Beat". I've subscribed just for NANA, but I've found other goodies as well.  They actually had a little article on Ootsuka Ai in the mag, but that's offtopic... 
Anyway, it's about a girl named "Nana" who dreams of becoming a rock star and becoming bigger than Trapnest, who she considers her "rival band". She wants to overpower the lead vocalist "Reira". On the train to Tokyo, she meets a bubbly sorta girl also named "Nana" (and whose fav. band is Trapnest). They both get along really well and talk for five hours on the train b/c of a snow storm. Rock Nana knows that Bubbly Nana (later she is nicknamed Hachi...get it?) is going to Tokyo because of a guy, basically, and Nana is secretly going there for a guy, too, as well as to try and make it big. Hachi talks about herself, Nana doesn't say much. They lose each other when they get out of the platform, and Hachi crys that she didn't get her number.
Later, they are fighting for the same apartment, but decide to room together. The story goes on from there  There are love triangles, complex crushes, twists, great fashion, rock music (although, obviously, you can't hear anything in the manga...lol), humor, sex, etc. It's really the story of the friendship b/w Nana and Nana. Also, the number seven has a role in the manga. It's just really good, I love it. The manga's not finished, though. It's still going on in Japan in "Cookie", and so far has 12 tankoubon. Unfortunately, I've only got up to tankoubon #10  It's the best-selling manga in Japan, selling over 20 million copies!! WOW...
Yazawa Ai is one of my favorite manga-kas. She has incredible drawing skills and I LOVE her sense of fashion. I also like her way of telling stories. It's not the typical perfect ending thing. It more or less addresses real issues in a realistic way. I definately recommend some of her other works in addition to "NANA" especially "kagen no tsuki" (no english), "Paradise Kiss" (parakiss), and "tenshi nanka ja nai".

firstly, NANA is a real great comic...
secondly, the fashion sense from that book is really good
the movie will be lanuching in SINGAPORE..

| I've heard about it due to Ai singing a song in an album dedicated for the manga. Also Mika Nakashima is going to act in it. |

also Do as infinity , Tommy Heavenly 6 ..have a song in the ablum of NANA also~ |

a friend got me somewhat excited about this movie O_O
people say it sucks but the trailer seems quite alright
i just hope that they wont be any couple (inspite of them holding hands and having a quick kiss at the mouth during the trailer) |

hey..
Ive not read the comic but I seen promotions of it.. heard Mika's track - Glamourous Sky, quite a rocky track!! she looked totally different frm how she used to look, she chopped her longs locks off  i heard its either out in japan or will be out soon.. |
