Hello!
This is probably something really simple, but I can't seem to get it to work / figure it out.
So my question is, how do I change my computer to Japanese locale for windows xp?
I tried going to control panel < regional and language options > advanced > selected Japanese in the dropdown box
but everything was still in English after I restarted my computer.
(If you're wondering why, I'm trying to install a game into my computer so yeah)
Thanks in advance |

i'm using Vista (not for long, though ), and this might not be the right way or even the right thing to do for you, but anyway... if it's a case of where you get a bunch of weird characters instead of Japanese when you start the program, this will probably help. i did this for a Japanese game i tried to play, and it worked.
what you need to do is change the language for programs that don't support Unicode. in Vista you go to (i'm translating these, so they might not have the exact name i write here) Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Administrative Settings > Change System Language... and go for Japanese.
but this messed up some other programs for me since i'm Swedish and my å, ä and ö's became weird Japanese characters, so i didn't keep it. |

If you want to change the entire Windows to show Japanese, then it is not possible in Windows XP. It is only possible in the Windows Vista and 7 Ultimate versions.
However, if you want to run a japanese game, you can either follow this thread here:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=60120
or get yourself a japanese windows |

| Yeah, that would be one of the very few reasons to upgrade to vista or ultimate. For Japanese XP you would actually have to buy the version of xp sold in Japan. |
