I think she has a wonderful voice!! She can hit the high notes really well and carry them out. And in kingyo hanabi she holds the last part for a loong time!
Maybe they meant squeaky as in having a whiny voice? I think in a few parts her voice does get a little whiny, but it's not annoying, it's cute and it fits the song. |

Her singing voice isn't that bad. There are some people who sing with a high pitch to hit a certain note. Ai's voice is cute and its brings a happy style to it. Her voice seperates from the normal jpop singers which is unique . |

Ai's voice is NOT SQUEAKY!!! I have heard other female-singers with a higher voice than Ai!
She is wonderful at Ballads! "Kingyo Hanabi, Daisuki Dayo, Natsu Sora, Planetarium, ext." are beautifully sung!
I think Ai's voice is cute and energetic! They're perfect for cheering you up when your depressed or tired. ^^ |

GO GO GO Ryu-chan! You said it! Ai-chan's voice is really great and if she had such an annoying voice she wouldn't be this popular right? |

| from the beginning, i always think that her voice is really cute, like the common japanese girl voice, but she is so talented. maybe her voice is a little childish, but it suits when she sings kingyo hanabi and other ballads too! so i really like her voice. ^-^ like, she can sing genki songs, and ballad songs. |

| personally i think ai has an amazing voice. I'd say she has a really good range of pitch and tone. But i think what makes her special to me is how she sings. He voice really reflects her personality. At first i use to think ai was too squeaky, especially in happy days. But i think just listening to it over and over i kinda got used to it. Now i don't even think she has a squeaky voice. I love her voice and i think if a person's willing to like to her it's kinda a aquired taste for some. But i think she's just amazing in every way! GO AI!!! |

| Her voice may be not as powerful and matured as other established J-pop artistes, but the way she injects her emotions into her songs makes her songs unique and stands out from the rest of the other songs. Her happy songs does make her voice sound a little squeaky though so I don't really listen to her popular happy songs like Happy Days and Smily. Can't really help it though because happy songs are fast-paced and high-pitched. Not much time in between notes to stabilise her vocals. Prefer her ballads such as Kingyo Hanabi and Natsu Sora as it showcases more of her supported vocals. But overall, her voice is a nice change from the usual J-pop. In fact, I used to think J-pop was dry and boring, consisting of squeaky chipmunk like female voices and pretty boybands. Ai has changed my mindset of J-pop totally. ^_^ |

Ai's voice? I think it has that special hint of uniqueness. I don't think I've ever heard a similar voice to hers. She's quite a one of a kind singer.
It's not as powerful as Ayumi's or Utada's who have much more experience in vocal training and abilities due to their long career but it's not too mellow or too dull. In fact her voice seems versatile enough to experiment with different genres.. I've heard Ai sing ballads, rock-styled songs, pop songs, upbeat songs and I've never been disappointed.
I do believe Ai's vocals will improve with time.. I've seen her vocals improve a lot in Planetarium lives. It's become really soothing and I like how the stresses the high notes in the end. I do think people should give her a chance before judging her. When I listen to her I really do get this feeling that she's trying her very very best by putting emotions in her words and her enthusiasm is really impressive. And that is what matters to me. |

| I love her voice. It's usually cute, but she can sound really beautiful too, when she wants to (like in Kingyo Hanabi or Natsuzora). |

i really like ai's voice and its definately not squeaky!
and her voice does not really sound like a typical japanese girls. if so won't all japanese girl be an artist? Not forgettin she writes her own songs!
Ai just need to improve more on her vocal to make it even better!
she can use her vocal range to sing almost any types of songs and i love how she did Neko ni fuusen not forgetting rock"ier" songs like Superman and Pretty Voice! |

| All artist has their own style in music, and their voice suits that style. Artist like Ai and Ayumi has high voices, but it sounds good in ballads and in most fast songs. I was reading in a forum, and some people thought that BoA's voice sounds constipated. >_< I have to admit, I was mad when I read that, b/c BoA's voice is unique, just like everybody elses. I don't really like it when people say stuff like that about artist. I like Ai's voice. It is unique, and her ballads are just beautiful. ^_^ |
