Hiya guys! I'll be going for a Tokyo and Osaka holiday on the 7th of Oct. Anyone familiar with the these 2 areas, can offer tips on where to go for budget fashion clothings and J-pop merchandises? My friend loves BoA while I love Ai, so our primary motive when shopping is looking out for such J-pop stores. Maybe yumiotsuka can help out? |

I'm familiar with Tokyo. Basically, everywhere you go will sell Jpop things, honest. XDD There are numerous little stores (and BIG ones!!) that sell everything to CD's to posters to random cheap little notebooks...everything!! WHAT to buy is the main problem. XD Have fun!! |

excellent, going to tokyo? lucky.
i have been there twice, and most recently back in May. I loved it and i think it is a great place to visit and get your j-pop goods. HMV, Tower Records, Kinokuniya, a few places you can check out there. There is so much to see in Kyoto and Tokyo, any questions? I am sure that there are a lot of us on here that can offer any suggestion and advice on your trip to Kyoto and Tokyo, have fun. |

WOW I LOVE JAPAN
I had such great time last spring in Japan. However, I recommend you buy your CDs from yesasia or amazon.co.jp and spend your money on things you can't find outside Japan instead of spending them on CDs you can always find on the internet.
I hope you enjoy your time there, but you missed the Aichi Expo

Thanks for everyone's fervent responses! Seems like Tokyo is the hot place for shopping. But I'll be spending most of my time in Osaka... So anyone here familiar with Osaka? Haha this Japan trip is lucky for me in a sense that the tour that I booked was not a confirmed departure until recently. Thought that I would not have a chance to go at all. Still not too familiar with Tokyo so wouldn't try free and easy till the next time! But I paid for all my tour expenses on my own! It's great being independent and taking charge of everything regarding this trip. I need this break from the norm, of monotonous national service life and the same ol' usual Singaporean lifestyle. yumi, you're going in November? Too bad I can't meet you in Japan haha! Next time I guess! I hope I can visit Japan annually. |
