The Official Abe Mao Thread
Name: Mao Abe (阿部真央)
Nickname: Abema
Born: 24 January 1990 (age 19)
Birth-place: Ōita, Japan
Abe Mao is a singer-songwriter who debuted in 2009 with the album Free. Before she debuted, she released four acoustic demos on iTunes. Of these, the song My Baby was picked in October to be the Single of the Week free download.
Despite never having a physical single release, the song Free did very well on the radio, causing Abe to reach no 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart. The album Free contains songs that were written during Abe's high school days.

Listened to Free Live, is that name(?), sounded really good, wasn't expecting that kind of song at all,  good upbeat rock song, few others on YT, will also check them out, thanks for introducing her.  |

| I listened to her album "Free" earlier this year, and I was very suprised. I think that she has a very strong and nice voice and her music rocks, I guess my favorite song so far is "Free" . I can't wait for her 2nd album, I hope it's as good as the first one. |

I like the covers, Mao looks really good . They are so different if you compare them to the covers from her 1st album, she looks very sexy and mature in them. I hope the songs on the album are as good as the covers  . |

| There is a Mao Abe thread! ^_^ I really like Free; it's still on my iPod all the time. Deadline is one of my favorite j-pop songs. She's so...assertive in that song. XD I was kind of surprised by Pop, though, with songs like Monroe...not bad, but quite different from her rough accoustic pop-rock on Free. |

| Ah, I can never keep up with j-pop girls and all their singles; at least I always have something new to listen to. I wonder if these are recently-penned songs, or if she's still singing the ones she wrote in high school. And it's out on my birthday, very cool. |
