JASMINE comes from a musical family and was involved in music from an early age. At the age of 13, she had the first experience of singing in a gospel choir at the U.S. Yokota Air Base. JASMINE later joined the American Expedition Choir the age of 15. At 17 year-old, JASMINE sang regularly at her local church, where she started to sing since she was a year old to train her vocal techniques.
JASMINE's dream was to have amazing vocals, to write her own music with her own lyrics to express her feelings, emotions beautifully and to become a professional singer. Yep, I think it was a good idea to create a thread for JASMINE. She is not very well known @ Channel Ai (Even though Koda and Me like her), but she is very popular in japan. Her debut single "sad to say"was very successful and "No More" wasn't a flop either.
She is going to release her new single "THIS IS NOT A GAME" on wednesday. |

Wow, seems like Channel Ai isn't that interested in her . Well, I updated the first post with her discography. Oh, and the tracklist for her debut album "GOLD" is out since a few days:
01. PRIDE
02. sad to say
03. L.I.P.S.
04. JEALOUS
05. Bad Girl
06. dear my friend
07. stage ~interlude~
08. THIS IS NOT A GAME
09. CLUBBIN"
10. Koi (恋; Love)
11. what you want?
12. No More
13. Dreamin'
14. Why
4 new songs and 1 interlude . Not all that much, but it's okay since the A-Sides were fantastic. |

Oh i didn't know that Channel-ai has a JASMINE thread... i love her a lot ... all my last.fm scrobbles of her song will tell you the same thing haha.
I'm disappointed by the tracklist , why does she put B-side? I don't like What you want? and koi isn't my fav too. CLUBBIN' and L.I.P.S are so good, but it's b-side . needs more new songs ! |

The transitions to me already look weird..."Sad to say" into "LIPS"? Oh well, the 2nd half of the album looks more cohesive
I imagine Jazzy getting all dressed up in gold robes or something for the cover |

^ Kind of :
That's the official cover, but I don't know if it's the cover for the CD ONLY version or the CD+DVD version. Not a big fan of it though . |

^ Attractive Not really. But it does beat out Koda Kumi's "Kingdom" in terms of gold, gold and more gold I do like her conceptualization with monochrome covers, and at least it isn't some bad, unglamorous frontal portrait |

To be honest, I even like the promo picture better:
Somehow she looks a little big like Koda Kumi (at least on the cover for "Dreamin" ). |

^ I agree It was better on her previous covers where she used less aggressive colors, but wow, there's so much yellow... I think I like the album cover better
That being said, though, I really cannot wait for the album itself! |

No one talked about "GOLD".
Well, I gotta say that I love her debut album. All the tracks are high quality and she definitely delivered one of the best R&B albums of 2010 already. The only thing I dislike is the tracklist. What are all the B-Sides doing on the album? I would prefer some new tracks instead. But luckily "Bad Girl", "Pride" and "dear my friend" are really good. "Why" is okay too, but it's not as good as the previous tracks to be honest. Oh, and the interlude is FIERCE. |

^ THIS, 200x.
"GOLD" was nothing short of amazing. This album showed just how fierce JASMINE is with a capital F. I liked "My Life blahblah" but I was glad that she left out the gospel tunes on this album. Yeah, the only I didn't like too much was "Why", but not by much, it was still a good song. "This is Not a Game" is still the hottest song evar.
I wonder how she'll top GOLD |
