I hope so too. She hasn't released anything new for a long time now Snowy Love is my favorite single from her solo stuff. |

I'm so glad that there are a lot of ZONE fans here! They really are great!
I never really liked Miyu's solo work. I downloaded some of it and really didn't like it... I showed it to my good friend who also loves ZONE and she was basically like, " Turn this off... " I don't like the whole dancey thing. I liked ZONE because they were one of the few Japanese rock bands that I really liked. As much as I don't want any more dancey stuff, I also don't want the members to cease activities all together. I'd rather have crappy music released from them instead of no music at all. It's good to know they're still alive. |

Yeah but Snowy Love is quite good. Miyu Nagase has good vocals and it would be a shame if she wasted them. I'd prefer it if they were still together but being solo gets an artist to be more mature |

I just know that MAIKO, one of the ex-member of ZONE, will form a new band called MARIA, under Studio Runtime and Sony Music. MAIKO will be the bass and vocal for this new band.
I'm not a big fan of MAIKO myself, I would prefer MIZUHO or MIYU to start their new band, but anyway it's great to know that MAIKO will stay in the music industry after ZONE disbanded. MARIA's members aren't as exciting as the original ZONE members, judging from their profile pictures. MAIKO's curly hair makes her more feminine and is quite different from the impression I got from her during her ZONE days.

MARIA, what a weird name! Holy crap, I need to pay more attention to ZONE because I'm missing stuff like this. TT.TT
MAIKO was my second favorite ZONE member (after MIZUHO, of course) and I'm really excited that she's going to be in a new band. I think she was the best singer in ZONE (I just love her voice, it's so smooth and relaxing), but I'm really not digging the curls. It's just too strange for me. I liked MAIKO because she was cute and I don't really think long, curly hair suits her. I'm sure she's probably trying to separate herself from her ZONE days and present herself as a newer, older, more mature person and artist.
In any case, I'm happy that any ex-ZONE member is doing something new related to music. I'm really excited about their debut (February 2006, why so long? TT.TT) and I'm going to do my best to support MARIA! |

| A new group huh? Those curls look odd and I'm kind of skeptic of how much this new group can go far.. but I do hope she can be successful. And I'm still waiting more for Miyu's solo work. |

I don't know if you guys have heard, but there is a CM out with a sample of MARIA's new song out. You can download it here. It's not very long because there's an announcer talking in the beginning, but from what I've heard...uh...yeah. It's very different. I know it's probably wrong, but it just doesn't feel right for me. I think I'm expecting them to sound a little more ZONE-ish, but that's wrong because it's not ZONE, it's MARIA, even if MAIKO is in the group.
Too sad, I still miss ZONE... |

MAIKo got baby chubby cheeks , dont you reckon?
But i was wondering, do they really make their own music? It's hard to believe the pretty n young girls can play instruments and create such cool songs |

Actually, ZONE didn't play their own musical instruments until around the "Yume no Kakera..." period, I believe. At the time of their debut, keeping true to the "bandoru" form, the reason why they had instruments was because they were merely props. Maybe it was that, or they hadn't fully learned them yet and their producers thought it was a good time to debut, I can't really remember, haha. TAKAYO actually played guitar as a hobby on the side before they debuted, so she probably had the most musical knowledge out of all of them at that ponit. If you look at some of their earlier performances, like "secret base ~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~", you can see that they're not really playing. Honestly, MIZUHO's fake drum playing gives it away, haha.
As for writing and actually making their own music, they rarely did. A few times they wrote their own lyrics to a song, or at least a part of a song, and a good example of that is the last line of each member's version of "Tabidachi...", the bonus song on the limited edition version of "E". They are a lot of rumors that some of the girls were actually ghostwriting lyrics under aliases. I guess we'll never know, will we? |
