Okay, so i was thinking of a way to get rid of leechers....and i couldn't come up with anything. But i was thinking, would they still be leechers if they were active?
eyn wrote: Yes, that's true, it's just kinda annoying when the forum grows bigger, it doesn't necessarily mean it's better but quite likely the opposite due to ever growing leecher population.
It seem like some of those people are here just to download something, but what if we could do something that would make it so they were more involved.
Here's somethings that i thought of that might help people to stay around the forums.
Live365- It's an online radio station. I know there's pretty much every song on mp3 that ai has made on the download section, but maybe someone could make a radio station. Even make a station for Bands/groups/singers were if they like ai then they'll like those bands too.
I'm not sure how to use live 365. I think it's free but i'm not 100% sure. Anyways, from what i'm told basically you run the songs on a playlist on a computer and then it plays through that thru live 365. I think.
Okay this one might seems alittle farfetched, but how bout a Ai GAME maybe someone could make a flash game or even like a quiz game questions bout ai. I have no idea how a person would do that but it's an idea.
okay, well i know these aren't the best ideas. I guess this is the best i can think of right now. I'm trying to think what makes me want to come to a forum. And what makes a forum more active.
I'll try to think of more things later. But they're just some ideas. =b |

I think i have a way to get rid of leechers
i hav a frd who is a random leecher thingie but like i encourage her to post
basically you accumulate points
so its kinda lik Gaia online
u post a lot you get a lot of points and you can get downloads by spending those points but if you don't post you don't get points to dl
but there might be a lot of random posts
so maybe there should be like a post filter
where it cancels or rejects all posts that say this is cool or thank Q
i dun get what CETMA is trying to say
someone explain
i read it over 2 times |

haha, it doesn't make any sense. i guess it made sense in my head when i was writing it I guess i was just try to think of ways that would make the less active or leecher members be more active. Maybe giving them something other then just free downloads. To help them be more active. So i thought it'd be cool to make an online radio station or 2. Featuring one station with ai's music or one with artist that people might like if they like ai's music. But iunno |

CETMA, Live365 is not free and the live streaming idea is a little far-fetched for the current Channel-Ai community. And the Ai Games you mentioned, it kinda reminds me of T-N with their arcade centre and stuff. That's definitely not the direction of Channel-Ai, but anyway I really appreciate your suggestion.
About kikubelle's suggestion, there's a money mod for phpBB but I don't think I would like to implement reward system here and losing the true meaning of sharing opinions. fyi, VIP download is not a reward system. You don't get VIP simply because you post, you get it if I think you are worthy for a fan. Not a fan who collect downloads, but a fan who uses his/her brain.
What's the direction of Channel-Ai you might ask? Well, so far it's going the direction I want it to be, what I envision is a community with friendly people where admin and members don't ignore you because you're a newbie. I want a community full of constructive discussion about Ai-chin without random topics popping up here and there without control. I don't want stupid thank you message without meanings and I encourage members to share what they think. I don't care if other forum has 1000 postings in a day, what I care is all posting here is filled with soul and feelings. It's a little cheesy, but you know, that's how I want it to be.
I hope people who are well known within the community through participating will enjoy themselves and stay with the community and I hope leechers can one day realize this is not your average place to leech stuff without a slightest stimulation of mind. It's about feelings, and it's not about how many videos you have in your computer.
I'm really happy when I see people benefitting from the forum, and I hope this forum can continue to expose new Ai fans to her amazing musical world. For old members, I hope you can stay and witness the growth of our dearest Ai-chin, and of course, of Channel-Ai too. |

Here are some of the ideas I came up with:
* A section dedicated solely for questions that people may have about Ai. If they want to know things about her career, personal life, rumors they may have heard and want verified or denied, etc.
* A posting games section. (Obviously with the post count off.) I've seen threads like this in many forums, and I find them a fun way to interact with other members.
* A chat room. I'm not entirely sure about this idea, but wouldn't it be kind of neat? You know how the website has seperate sections for the gallery & blog? Well, maybe we could have a section for a java based chat room, or something to that effect.
I don't know if any of these ideas are any good, but they were just a few things that came to mind. I really love this forum, and the people here. It just makes me sad that we have so many members, yet so few participate. |

I like some of the ideas posted in this thread. I like the idea of a posting games section, as long as it's possible to turn off the post count in that section. I don't know what eyn would think of it, though, since he has a deep, deep hatred for spamming. I think it might be beneficial for the forum, though. Maybe if people let out all of their spamming urges in that section, there will be less spam elsewhere, haha.
Discussion is good and so is contributing videos, news, pictures, etc., and that helps a forum grow, especially if the members are dedicated and friendly. Channel-Ai is already such a great forum, and I'm proud to say it's one of my favorite. However, there's just that aspect of fun that's missing sometimes, you know, like getting together in a nonsense topic and laughing at a really funny post. That's why the "Mumble" topic is so fun sometimes, haha. It will help build a stronger sense of community too, and it might break down some barriers between members because it will take away that sense of mystery everyone feels in normal topics (because no one knows each other).
Everyone who posts at the community blog should know what I'm talking about. When we all gathered and had our random chats about things and were able to laugh about silly crap, it brought us together. I think that's cool, because at first I never really knew anyone terribly well on Channel-Ai alone, besides a handful of member names that I recognized every now and then. Now I feel like I want to come back more, because it's not so uncomfortable. It also provided some of the funniest moments that I probably wouldn't have experienced otherwise, like someone not knowing what poo is, McEverything, being afraid of Satan, shaky legs, poo wars, etc.
I think if we're able to gather in a section and make random topics about how effing delicious that turkey, salami and sharp cheddar cheese sandwich that I had for lunch today was, every time I post, it will make everyone remember, "Hey, that's the psychotic retard who is really fond of sandwiches, oh yeah!" You understand what I mean?
Of course, I remember how averse eyn is to this type of thing, so if looking at something like that makes you weep on the inside, you can always get Jason or someone else to watch it closely for you.
Blah blah blah, sorry about all of this rambling. |

I'm still kind of new to Channel-Ai, but recently I've found myself coming here often.
I never really used to post much at all, and I know even now I haven't posted a lot, but this place really makes me feel... good. I really want to keep posting here even though sometimes the things I say aren't very profound or aren't very interesting.
I think the idea of a chat would be nice and the posting game sure sounds fun! I used to play on those posting games on other forums in the past and they actually got kind of addictive when people would constantly post things!
Anyway, I know I've probably said a lot of nothing in this post, but I just really wanted to say that this place has become special to me even in the short time that I've been here. I really would like to see this place grow into a more tightly knit community, so I'd like to help assist with that any way that I can! You guys are awesome for caring so much about us too! Thanks, really!! |
