Whoa, I think I may have been the 40th voter. Please don't close the channel now, eyn. ^_^;
Hopefully now any pointless posting by people trying to reach their quota (guilty, as charged) can die down, and active membership will rise (I'm trying - I promise).
Anyway, kudos to all participants - you guys have some serious courage to share your work! |

That was hard @__@;;. I forgot to enter. Then again, my voice isn't cute enough, and I could probably only do Planetarium or Kingyo Hanabi o_O;;.
Best of luck to all! |

Here's my two cents!
Entry 1 - You seemed really held back and almost shy. Is that you playing the piano? If so, you're extremely amazing. Keep practicing!
Entry 2 - You really have the voice for Ai's songs, that's for sure. You have the talent. The only thing I'd say is to think ahead to hit some of the notes you missed, I think. Take some bigger breaths if you have to hold out those notes!
Entry 3 - Great try, but maybe practice some Japanese pronunciations. And singing.
Entry 4 - This could be a really awesome male version of this song (and I've heard it done!) if you didn't afraid to hit some of those notes with more power and emotion. You also didn't hit a few notes. I really give you credit for singing, though!
Entry 5 - Wow, your voice is very high-pitched! I hope you weren't trying to imitate Ai... I liked it, but it didn't sound very strong... I don't know how else to put it.
Entry 6 - Well, you're the one I voted for! Your voice blew me away! You sound like a mix of Ayumi Hamasaki and Nana Kitade (except you can sing, she can't ). Kingyo Hanabi is my favorite Ai song, and you really nailed it. I was a little disappointed that you didn't hold out some of the notes at the end of the choruses, but it was so well-sung anyway.
Entry 7 - This will be biased since this is the only Ai song that I really hate. It gets on my nerves. Your notes sounded very forced. I think you need to breathe better. Otherwise, keep practicing!
Entry 8 - I was in love until it got up to the first chorus. You really didn't go for the high notes at all. I think this song needs them. I did like how you added your flare to it, though. Especially towards the end. You really have a great voice.
Entry 9 - It was a tie between your song and entry 4, but of course, I had to choose one! I think you sang wonderfully. This song is good to sing because most people can sing it. At first I thought we had Kaori Mochida from Every Little Thing at this forum! You know, you sound EXACTLY like her! Try singing an Every Little Thing song...no one would know the difference! You did a great job too!
Entry 10 - There was no flow... Good job with the Japanese. It can be tough for some people! It just doesn't sound like singing.
Entry 11 - Excellent! Another toughie for me! Your voice goes great with this song! It's deep but sweet-sounding, which is perfect for this double entendre (can't spell this...) song! I also love the voice effects you did!
Entry 12 - No offense, it could just be the bad quality, but you sounded really glum in it. And that's all I can think of saying.
Whew. You all did a really impressive job! When the poll closes, can we find out who sang which song? Can't wait for the next competition! |

Entry one: Your voice is breathy, airy, very whimsical, but a bit too quiet. The piano, while lovely, drowns out your voice, and I wish I could hear more, since it's hard to judge based on something as quiet as this. You need more power in your voice, more confidence, and sometimes you don't go into falsetto enough to hit notes. Very lovely song and voice though.
Entry two: Very pretty. The recording skipped a bit, but for the most part it's a very good quality. I'm impressed with the apparent control you have over your voice, though the pitch is sometimes off and it's get a too bit nasally for my liking. Your voice is very close to Ai's, very pleasant, and the only qualms I have about the ending is how on some of the notes, you don't hold it powerfully enough, and the last note is cut off too quickly. Impressive, in my opinion.
Entries three and four: Unique. The pitch, tempo, and notes are off in both, though it takes a lot of courage to sing songs such as this.
Entry five: You sound a bit too forced. A bit too soft, too unnatural. I think you went too out of your range in this. Very cute voice, though, just needs a bit of work. Good job.
Entry six: I admit, I was suprised when you started singing. By the breathing into the microphone in the beginning, I thought you weren't going to be that good. Nice voice, though weak at some points.
Entries seven and eight: I was disappointed. You have the potentional, please work on it.
Entry nine: Very nice. I especially liked the ending. Again, though, you could refine it.
Entry ten: Not the best choice for your voice, though the attempt is admirable.
Entry eleven: I love your voice. Talented, but a bit down and sad. Put more life into it, and you'll be really good.
Entry twelve: From what I can tell, your voice is nice. A bit pitchy and flat, but decent. Kinda. Just work on it.
And before anyone jumps on me, I've been singing opera and broadway since I was about nine, so I'm just critiquing from a professional point of view. If I were able to vote, I would go with two or eleven. |

Well I listen to all the entries and I read the whole post, and I know I can't vote since I'm only new and I been surfing the boards, I find them quite interesting by the way, though I'm only some sort of a fan of Ai, not a big one but still a fan
Anyway back to the entries. I listen to them all, and I narrow my choices to three,
Entries, 2,6 and 11. I think those are the best voices from the 12 my most sincerely congratulations you guys! And to all of the rest of the contestants as well.
Since I can't vote I'll just say that most probably my vote will have gone to entry number 6. |
