yes, there is a taiwanese version. i can't say which is better... i haven't seen it. maybe i should check it out, i've never watched a taiwanese drama before! i've mostly only watched korean stuff with some japanese ones here and there.
in any case, i checked out the first ep of hana yori dango yesterday, and yes, i'm impressed! i'm dling more right now! it took me a while to figure out why tsukichi looked so familiar. i had to look up on the d-addict wiki to find out she was in hotaru no haka. that's why! haha |

haha well being a taiwanese, i think i could answer this one for you. when compared with the japanese version, it definitely has a different feel. personally, i love the japanese one xDD sugoi kawaii! haha but the taiwanese version is somewhat the same i guess. but it's just a matter of which language you prefer and who you like ?
but i think the casting for the japanese version is REEEALLY GOOD haha jun is so pretty : p and ogu-shun is just LOVE<3 haha
i hope it answers the question for you. but i think if you love the story itself, you'll love the drama regardless of the language : ] |

Hana Yori Dango is too short!!! I want to see more chapters!!! ;__;
I really liked this drama. I had read part of the manga, and it was really cool so I started downloading the drama when a friend told me about it. In the last episode they said the dvds were going to be on sale on March ^___^ I think I'll buy them!!
It's really cute when you heard planetarium in the sad moments. It nearly made me cry!! |

I found these series yesterday. It's the first J-dorama I have watched, and I loved it so much!
I'm just starting to watch ep.6, can't wait what's happening in it.. 
I love the part where Makino punches Domyouji too! /o/ Girl power! |

| This is the first and only J-dorama i've seen so far! I really liked it a lot. The opening theme really is catchy, the only reason I decided to check it out was because of the Ai connection lol. Does anyone else think the punching sounds are really over the top? it makes it quite funny. |

Hana Yori Dango was a great drama. It was my first jdorama, because of that I dont know another jdorama to compare, but it was great. Because of Hana yori dango, I heard Ai Otsuka for the first time
And I really loved the main female character Makino, she is soo cute |

Hana Yori Dango is really a great dorama isn't it xD. but currently playing in japan, on sunday nights at 9 pm, is a new drama called 'RONDO'. it's a great production and i truly recommend that you watch it. although it's already gone up to episode 7, with episode 8 playing this upcoming sunday night, you could always go download the previous ones : ] Gokusen I and II are also really good : D AND BROTHER BEAT IS ALSO REALLY REALLY GOOD : D
btw, if you want to know more about rondo, there is a topic in the j-dorama section of the forum which talks about the show and gives you a little bit of background. Same with Gokusen.

| I watched the Taiwanese version which is called Meteor Garden. It was pretty okay series, not one of the best but it seem not too realistic that is my own opinion. The character seems to fake and the storyline was a bit different in some ways. Hopefully when I watch the Jdrama it's a lot better than the one I watched few years ago. |

rrealllyy??? i thot that oguri-shun took the spotlight in HYD
and matsujun did in gokusen1
the reason being is tht oguri's hair in HYD is jus soo nice ><
and matsujuns is so ugly XD
whereas in gokusen, matsujun looks better, and oguri not as good
i never really thought oguri was cute or nething until HYD coz of the hair
but! i do agree! MATSUJUN IS AN AMAZING ACTOR!!!!!
hope to see more works from him soon |

ya im taiwanese too, but i wud say tht both r good
they have completely diff. feels... the japanese one is mroe funny
and theres a hot cast XDD
but the twnese one has more emotional parts.. and its overall more emotional 
i cried so much for the twnese one
but for the japanese one.. i wasnt really liek praying tht she wud get together with domyoji (however u write his name)
but the japanese one was more funnyyyyyy =D
