I'd say Nine Inch Nails too.
I don't listen to em' much, but i know they're really good.
I'd also recommend H.I.M, but if you listen to them too much you might find yourself commiting suicide o.o noone needs that...
I'd also strongly recommend Any of Ayu's Rock songs.
Yeah, not english, but still suuuuuuuuper gewd. |

Nine Inch Nails is anything but a nu metal band considering they've been a band since the end of the 80s before that was even around. I'm not sure what genre I would call them... kind of industrial metal with a pop edge to it kind of. |

pop edge?
Anyway the only industrial metal band i'm listening to is American Head Charge.
I dunno y wikipedia classified them as industrial metal, since they do not use synths tat much. I think it's more to Nu Metal band like Slipknot. Give yourself a try to this band. |

Well I consider them pop... mostly because it's a lot easier to listen to than most industrial crap.
I've herd American Head Charge,,, they are more nu metal. They are alright... not really my thing, but yea, NIN sounds a lot different (and in my opinion) better then them. |

nin is the best, and american head charge is NOT an industrial band.
more kind of crossover, like bile and fear factory.
some industrial bands:
das ich
skinny puppy
ministry
e.c.m
suicide commando |

i've listened to NIN today. I think it's not really my type of music... Too "electrical" for me.
You're right, AHC is not industrial metal, it's Nu-Metal instead for me.
Recently i'm working out for the song Vermilion by Slipknot, from the guitar score book i got for US$20. It's pretty accurate. I'm lacking of Wah-pedal though. |

| wow i'm like a bunch of you. i used to listen to a lot of hard rock. i have albums of metallica, m. manson, korn, slipknot, nine inch nails, etc... that was back when i was in high school. toward the end of hs i was becoming an anime maniac and when i hit college i met a bunch of anime maniacs, and well, i slipped into j-pop. nowdays my listening is mostly j and k-pop, with some english alternative and hard rock. i have a few metallica, manson, and nin songs in my mp3 player amid all the asian pop. nice to see some of you are like that. i thought i was weird! haha |

| hey onoturtle, it's not weird. More than a few of people are like you too. Sometimes i would get bored of listening Black metal music, and i will listen to Ai, Mika Nakashima to balanced up my mind too. But my interest towards j/k pop got nothing to do with anime, since i rarely watch those... |

For example, ppl listen to Mika Nakasnima because she sings for Gundam Seed's ending theme. And people listen to YUI because she sings for Bleach's ending theme... the pattern goes on and on...
Anyway, i'm into Gothic metal now days. It's basically a heavy, melodic and gothic band, with female and male (sometimes got) vocalist.
The band i'm listening to currenly is "Leaves' Eyes", is a Norwegian Gothic Metal band. I got to know this band from Cradle of Filth. Because the female vocalist Liv Kristine was a guest vocal for the song "Nymphetamine" for the mentioned band.
This band is pretty good and you shall try to listen if you're interested in Gothic metal music with female vocals.
I was recommended with the band "Arch Enemy", a Swedish Gothic Metal band. I tried listened to a track. And personally i think that Leaves' eyes sounds better.
I think later on i'll move on to Lacuna Coil... this band has a female vocalist right? If i'm not mistaken... |

it's like when you hear a good song in a movie or a tv show, you just want to hear it again. some people find new tunes to listen to via radio or from MVs on TV. my exposure to JPOP is from doramas and anime. that's the only way i can hear new japanese songs here in america. unless of course i go out and randomly (or by suggestion) download or buy music and MVs online. i'll need to find some heavy jrock bands. any suggestions? i'll reread through this thread again, i think there may have been some.
actually it's the same with american music for me. i don't listen to the radio or watch tv, so pretty much the only way i'd hear a new american song is if it played in a movie haha |

Arch Enemey is alot more strait foward metal & death metal then gothic. That's probally why you didn't like them as much.
Lacuna Coil are pretty good I think. They have girl & guy vocalist so it's a nice mix. They are going on tour in March in America with Rob Zombie even though they sound nothing like him really. |

hahaha wow, I am surprised that anyone on this forum listens to heavy music. I listen to all sorts of music too but my taste is very specific which is a shame because there's a hell of a lot more music I don't like then I do lol.
Does anyone here play any instruments? or in a band?
this is my old band, I play drums. If you don't like screaming, be patient and wait for the singer.. it comes eventually! |
