Yes! this is great right!?!? They are planning to do a fatal Frame movie.

But im disspointed its directed by some american,
american actress Courtney Webb should be playing the main-role WTF!?! (gomen nasai)
She dosent look like Asian or at even japanese girl. Well if this happen americans have once again done it. I dont like this at all its should be directed by an japanese and everyone who plays role in it should be japanese. I bet this movie wount be good it they do this project. Imo it just lose it shine. if american direct this. what do you guy´s thing about this? |

but yea... Fatal Frame is about Japanese ledgends.. HOW CAN TEHRE BE AN AMERICAN... but im still really excited.. I still have to beat the 3rd game.. So far I liked #2 best...

#2 is my favorite also ^_____^ *its simply the best*
Fisrt Fatal Frame was good also but not as good as Second one.
I havent played the third yet but im buying it sooner in this year.
I heard its more wider in story lines and also more playble characters etc. Its gotta be good Also im excited about this movie production, just wished it would be japanese becouse like you said the games story is in japan the whole horror mythology is better know in asia then america. But its better then nothing  |

I agree!
And you know, to address the original post... It doesn't really matter what nationality the director/producer/lead actor is, it's still gonna be a video game movie, and those tend to be kinda bad no matter who made it. So, y'know, instead of pre-emptively blaming Americans for the movie sucking, maybe you ought to just wait and see if it ever gets made, and then form an opinion after actually seeing it. And maybe, just maybe, you could base your opinion on what was good or bad about the movie, instead of whether or not you like the race/nationality of the person making it. Just a thought. Not actually trying to offend anybody.  |

J-kitty i guess you gotted my point wrong.
My main point was the differences in American/Asian movie culture. I was not bashing any culture or races or something.     I was kinda shocked that you thinked that way.
Becouse im not racist, I have relatives in japan and i know many american peoples and they are cool with me. Im sorry about my bad english becouse its not my native language, and thats why i cant always descripe so good what im trying to say or express.
please i hope you tryid to understand what i tryid to say. No bashing i was only talking the diffrences why i think why this shouldnt be directed by american. Resident Evil the movie or apocalypse was supposed to be horror but it was action/horror and it was directed by american and thats why i thought this movie could be all the same but you are right. we have to wait and say our opinnion after when this movie is seen. I was just guessing. |

I have nothing against an American directing/making the movie 
But honestly, I don't think an/a American/Western girl can also pull off Miku's part.
Maybe it's bias towards Asians, but I wouldn't wanna see Fatal Frame any other way.
Though I wanna see how this turns out as being a fan of the game itself, it's pretty hard to make a movie about exorcising ghosts with a camera appeal thrilling. ^_^ |

| Wow, thanks for posting this! I'm a huge fan of the Fatal Frame series (I've played 1-3). I have a feeling this is going to be something similar to the Grudge, but I'm still hyped. Definitely going to check it out. |

SuteKi No problem, It would be sure nice to see this happening,
but as Lilithia asked are they doing it anymore? i dont really know...
its been couple of years and no new news towards it have been posted
They said it was going to be released around 2005/2006 but it didint show up
Now we are heading down 2008 and still no news.
so the only thing i know
Courtney Webb who was going to be starring the movie has changed
his agency and informed that she aint interested anymore to participate
so no there are zero information who are going to be casting the movie and so on....
So either they are rewriting the script or then they have dropped this, who knows? we will see.
Maybe it will see its day light someday....now im only hoping that there will be even a new
Fatal Frame for the new consoles even though i dont own one yet but hopefully Kikuchi-san will suprise us! NE? |

Hey guys... I have an idea! I also played FF.. N now almost finish Lunar Eclips at xbox 360. Hurm.. I dont give any offence to American or japanese actor shud play in this upcoming movie. But, I think if Japanese cast in this movie, it is much more suitable!! For example, Mafuyu, his style can be immitated by JAEJOONG(DBSK). While Miku can be SAWAJIRI ERIKA. |

I apologize for necro-ing this thread but I've been waiting for this movie for years now and it still has not come out.
I just now found out its being made my steven spielberg and has american actors, which i have to admit, even though Im an American, this makes me extremely unsatisfied
