-SIGH- I just finished watching it and it's probably one of the BEST shows ever! It mad me cry like no other dorama did X_X I love Erika! SHE'S SOOO KAWAII!!! I love the family (in the drama) Everything about this drama is good, I loved watching those parts extracted from the book and pictures of the real Aya at the end of each episode.

ps: I don't know if it's right to ask but does anyone know where to download the OST?

I finished watching this a few days ago. Its seriously one of the saddest drama's I've watched, I cried my eyes out at the end of it. I'm disapointed that Erika Sawajiri never won the award for best actress for her role in this, the japanese academy sucks. I cant believe they picked tsukushi from HYD for best actress, she was good dont get me wrong but Erika really should have won it.

I liked this drama. It was definitely incredibly sad at the end. Of course, I knew what I was getting myself into when I read the title...

I did think it was rather prolonged towards the middle episodes. Definitely, I found myself looking at the clock while watching that portion of the series.

I find that I compare the sadness of this series to sekaichuu even though they are very different storylines. If you haven't seen sekaichuu yet, I would recommend watching that next.

I watched "Sekai wo Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu" as well, but in the end I still prefer "1 Litre of Tears". Sekai focus more on the love story and how the guy get over his sadness, but 1 litre of tears focus on how the disease has changed the life of Aya and how her family stay together to face such a terrible thing.

I don't really feel that sad or cry when I watched Sekai, it's touching but because it's all lovey dovey you don't feel that connected with the character i.e. it's more like their own loving world. For 1 litre of tears, Aya's just a normal school girl and you can sort of relate to what will happen if you are Aya and how are you going to deal with the disease. Well, that's what I think. Tongue

Lastly, I don't get why Sekai won so many awards while 1 Litre of Tears win nothing at all. Those Japanese judges gotta be blind or something, or maybe they only give awards to actor that are already popular. Stupid awards. Mad

btw, 1 Litre of Tears is hugely popular among international dorama lovers and it's one of the highest keyword that bring random people to our blog too, thanks to Jason's review of the drama.

in reply to eyn:

the reason why sekaichu won awards was because it deserved them. Smile i'm sorry you didn't think that it was that great. personally, i thought that "1 ltr no namida" was a little too sad for its own good, it was too much of a "happy go lucky popular perfect girl who's struck with an evil EVIL disease and all the problems of the world fall on her" i thought, also, another reason why sekaichu was more popular was because it was very much like the book it was based on, which was a best seller to start with. "1 ltr no namida" on the other hand had a lot of extra things that didn't really happen, which made it more generic and added that extra bit of drama with the whole mean school girls, all the getting wet in the rain, and the entire love interest bit (yes asou-kun didn't really exist No) yes, what happened kitou aya was horrible and the disease itself is monstrous, but i think that the drama would sat a lot better with critics (because you said it didn't get any awards) if it was a little closer to reality and not overly dramatic... melodramatic even.

you are right in noticing though that sekaichu was a love story b/w aki and saku while namida was more of a story about aya, based around the disease, and how she and her family friends struggled with it. it was no doubt a good drama, and it is slightly surprising that it hasn't won any awards yet, but c'mon, lets be honest, sekaichu was an all around better drama. well, imo anyway

^_^

A bit of spoiler alert.... do not read if you have not seen this drama Nod

Just finished watching 1 litre of Tears... Crying Crying
It was so touching... However, just felt that the last episode wasn't really good... sort of sudden ending... the last episode only showed until Aya chan not being able to talk (this scene only around 10 minutes).. After that, the scene moved to 5 years later.... Almost all the middle episodes she's still able to walk... they should shorten it and put more scenes on how she cope without the ability to talk and move... Anyway, overall this drama is 9/10 Smile
