It's not like that i'm against the release... 
but I think it's still too early for ai chin 
but it's a whole differrent story if avex wants to get money ASAP  |

| If the rumours are true, I'm happy for Ai of course, but I too agree that it's way too early. Don't best albums come out years and years later when they pick best songs from different era's of Ai's singing career? |

I agree with Mokyomi, it's too early to release a best album. If she does end up releasing one though you can bet that I'll be in line to pick it up since I haven't really bought anything of hers yet.  |

| I dont like Best stuffy unfortunately.... if thats her album this year, i'm giving it a big missed. so far i know i dislike listening to the same thing over again [ as in buying the past ?? ] ...... But if the cover is good LOL you will not know ^_^ Kazfz might buy it !! but anyway i hope there is still some new songs added... |

Some reliable sources have quoted Otsuka Ai to release a PV collection on 11/08, but haven't said anything about a CD release apart from Renai Shashin. If that is true, then I don't think Otsuka Ai would release a Best. Because the PV collection would mean it eliminates the CD+DVD combo for the best, and quite frankly I don't think Avex would go ahead with that since Otsuka Ai has always had the CD+DVD combination, and it means more money for Avex.
It's quite possible that Otsuka Ai doesn't want to release a Best, and wants to release when she thinks her time is over in the entertainment business. This was Ayumi's idea, but the giants at Avex forced Ayumi to release A BEST, and Ayumi had a teary Ayu on the cover as a mini protest. The song Dearest and the PV of it was also a protest as well.
ANYWAY, back to Otsuka Ai, I really think this Best isn't going to happen anytime soon, and I would personally love it if it was released when Otsuka Ai wanted to retreat. |

exactly. If an artist is about to release a BEST album, the b sides should be considered as well as the a side. As long as the song itself is good enough to put on the name of BEST. Tears, Natsu Sora, 300yen and the others are kinda my fav, and i think these few tracks are reasonable to be included.
But somehow, just like the others mentioned, it 's insane to release a BEST album of Ai. She needs more room to improve for the moment. Let say after 3 or 4 years, then releasing a BEST album would be reasonable.
If the plan is really carry on by avex, i'm gonna put a curve on them... Let's look at Ayumi's A BEST. I think the cover design is implying the unsatisfactory of the artist herself about the rush of releasing that album. Nah, just my guess. Apparently avex was trying to challenge Utada's DISTANCE during that time.
Anyway, back to business. If there are a BEST album of PV collection for Ai. I would still buy it as to complete my collection. At the other side, i believe that many of them would cry of the lost of weight of the wallets like i would. |

I agree, b sides should be considered equally as well. well for instance, w-inds. released their best album and they had some b sides and some songs from their albums as well. As long as they are good song, it shouldn't really just limit to a sides. |

I still want more albums before the best is released.... every album
is the best one! there can't be a compilation of singles... don't like
that la........

Old discussion, I see  I am all for an AI BEST. 13 singles she has is the right number to fill a best album. Add one or two remixes or re-arrangements... and you're done  |

I would still love to see a LOVE BEST album. Most artists do this after releasing three albums. A strange trend, but they do. I'm all for it. Especially if it means we get a video collection as well.  |
