There are 2 main reason why the download forum is removed:
- Too many leechers come here just to grab downloads, pictures, and generally do not care about the well being of this site
- I build this site to let people who love Ai-chin to have a place to talk about her, know more about her and make friends with other fans, not infringing her rights by sharing downloads with people who will never buy her CDs
Her singles are still free for anyone to download despite the 2nd reason above, mainly to give people a chance to expose themselves to her music and hopefully they'll become her fan and support her by buying her singles and albums after listening to them.
Lastly, the rules are very important and you should pay more attention to them since they are the reason why Channel-Ai is quite different from many other forums you might visit. |

ha ha ha, noobed! i shouldn't laugh, i remember my newbie days, let's not count the # of warnings eyn sent me 
patience young 2Bfreeyumi, think of channel-ai like say a shaolin. you've just joined, there's no way you're learning the secrets of the art yet. you have to learn the rules, work your way up, prove yourself to your fellow colleagues, guide your underlings and learn from your seniors the way of the shaolin. and remember, at this shaolin, no deed goes unnoticed. and one day when you're worthy, you will be shown path to the treasures of ch-ai and it is then that you will realise, that although it was the treasures you seeked, what you found in the process was the biggest treasure you could have ever found...a community, a family.

well dont know...... you can ignore what kazfz said but so far, i see 2Bfreeyumi downloading a lot....
If you dont even bother to read the rules, dont bother to ask question, i mean the rules are make for you guys to read but its ignored ?......
Anyway sometimes lie eyn said, there are too much leechers... + some files are large files like 500mb ?? [ i dont think we have them LOL except for the concert LOL ], the BW can eat quite badly so please understand ^_^.... it scares me to put my upload here sometimes cos it might eat into the BW quite badly....
well i dont know but some people POST JUST SO THEY CAN LEECH.... had enough of this crazy leeching problem LOL |

*ahem* I'm not a leecher. I just wanna listen to Ai Otsuka's music. What's wrong with that? This is the only place I can go to get j-music. Really. And I'm not leeching, I'm also talking in sections. Like the anime and gaming section and I'm getting around to the other sections and looking for interesting topics. That's really insulting. I've been on forums before. I know what I'm doing.
Sorry I didn't read the rules. Sheesh. I just wanted to chat and stuff right away.
And for your information, I asked here because all I wanted was a simple answer. Why don't you have Ai Otsuka downloads? Thanks for the answer.  I forgot about the leechers thing. People mention it all the time.
I'll go read the rules right now. Okay?

The point of this thread is stated very clearly and all it needed was a simple answer. Let it serve as a warning to others who do disobey or do not read the rules.
It seems like 2Bfreeyumi has learnt her lesson so let's just leave it at that. In this wonderful community where we all share a common interest and love, there should never be a scene of blame or put downs.

to clarify things a bit further, yesterday i created a thread with the following name:

the purpose of starting this whole new thread was to isolate the ridicule and abuse heaped on 2Bfreeyumi for having the impudence to suggest having a download section. i was going to let that stand as is. sort of like a shrine to the intolerance members of this community have to others.
my intention was to start a new dialogue on the merits or otherwise of having secret and deliberately misleading rules in a public forum. my astonishment at this discovery was the reason i left my new post as it was. it seemed so incredible to me that
1. secret rules existed,
2. deliberate misinformation has been placed into the forum rules.
in my naiivety, i thought all i had to do was draw attention to these things, and the intent of my post would be clear. not so. it would seem that these two things are considered unremarkable in this forum. so now i know.
the title of my new thread suggested a closer link to this thread than is the case. as explained above. it just seemed rather neat at the time to name it that way. but i can see how i contributed to the confusion as to my point.
so, as my post is now part of the larger, original thread with the similar name... i might address some of the points, seeing as im here.

not exactly welcoming and encouraging to a new person. it seems to me the assumption around here is you are a leecher if you have an interest in downloadable material. i, for one, have an interest in Ai Otsuka's live tv performances. but i guess i am risking being scorned and shunned by mentioning that. please excuse this objectionable interest of mine.

back to the issue of having secret and deliberately misleading rules.

for a long time around this forum i have been chasing my tail, wondering what was meant by occasional references to download forums i cannot find and links to request threads that dont work. this has increased my frustration levels with this forum. i would see a reference to a download thread, go to the list of forum topics, go down each path, try a different skin (maybe there is a problem with the current view?) then finally read the forum rules and see it confirmed that there is no download forum and that being a member here confers no greater priviledge than the ability to post replies. try doing all that for a few evenings at dial-up speeds and see how your frustration levels go. 
i work in i.t. i sometimes need to rely on things being the way they are described. occasionaly there is no documentation, so you have to work things out for yourself. but at least you know where you stand. but to be told something that is deliberately and knowingly not true... 
quite often i surf for available tv performances. sometimes indications of links for these turn up in chinese forums, but are locked away behind a registration/login maze i am unable to negotiate. i mentally heap abuse on them for being so precious with these downloads. my impression is their priority is not the music - it is keeping what they have to themselves to attain some sort of superiority and exclusivety. that they have lost track of their original objective which is to share the joy they have in Ai Otsuka's music. sadly, this is how channel-ai is starting to look to me. 
i am much more active in another jpop forum that is not specific to a particular artist, despite my main interest being Ai Otsuka. i have often wondered why that is so, but the last few days have made that clearer.
and after all, what was 2Bfreeyumi's crime? to suggest the creation of something that already exists! (that he/she didnt know about and couldnt know about). i am still having difficulty wrapping my mind around the hypocrisy of some of the responses.

I think the members in this forum made things pretty clear. If you are here hoping you can download things, sorry, it's not that easy on this forum.
There are TONS of other places to get Aichin files; torrent sites, other forums, etc. Almost all the things offered at the Download Section can be found elsewhere on the internet. If you want an easy way to get downloads, may I direct you to Jpopsuki Tracker. It'll make your download life WAY easier than trying to work your way into the download section here in Channel-Ai.
We've had very bad leecher problems before, like less than 10% of registered members are posting, but all of them are downloading. Eyn has said that this forum is discussions-orientated. It's a place to DISCUSS about Aichin and other things, not a place to DOWNLOAD Aichin files. The Download Section is merely there to make finding Aichin files more easily for solid participaters of this forum. Even though I have the access to the download forum, most of my Aichin files are from elsewhere, since I'm used to downloading my files from this other place.
In the rules Eyn already stated that "(removed due to leechers, registering will NOT give you access)," therefore it's not weird that you don't see one after you register. The reason I was so sarcastic in my first reply was not only this thread, but the fact that I see 2Bfreeyumi only posted at download threads after she registered, and many of the replies were along the lines of asking someone to reupload or upload files for her. This is why I felt that if she doesn't read the rules and only knows to download things, she's not welcomed here. But afterwards she did went to read the rules, and she started posting in discussions, I said nothing else. And for your question, no I do not want to reconsider my response. If she read the rules she'll get that this community is not a place to download things.
And no, this community is not intolerate towards others. There are many new members/comers that has became great members and contributors of this community. |
