I'll have to put my order in for the US FFXII soon, I got my PS2 chipped pretty much because of the FF games.
Square's crappo 50hz convertions for Europe and the fact that we have to wait 94 billion years after everyone else made the expense of chipping my PS2 worthwhile.
I'm excited! This looks to be a goodun! |

I picked up my order of FFXII a couple of days, and I have to say, it's one of the best titles yet, well maybe not better then VII...yet. FFVII is my all time favorite at the moment.
Final Fantasy XII is a big improvement then the previous PS2 ff titles. They changed the battle system, and I think it's a great change to do. You can now move during battles, walk around your enemy. The visuals, as usual, are amazing. THe story is interesting. |

I actually don't own a PS2 but I'm probably going to pick up Final Fantasy XII because I bought the strategy guide (not going to read the walkthrough or any of the stats of enemies) because my friend got a very good discount on it but didn't want to shell out the extra cash so I took it off of his hands. The visuals look amazing as usual, the unique battle system got my attention, and I love the political drama as opposed to the "save-the-world" epics. Plus, it has a ton of subtle knods to Final Fantasy Tactics which is, in my humble opinion, the best Final Fantasy to date. Long story short, when I was younger I was a huge Final Fantasy fan then I got bored by the newer generation of it, and now the flame has been rekindled just a little bit. |

I'm really hoping to get FFXII for Christmas!
I love almost all of the Final Fantasy games and all the previews I've seen of this game look absolutely AMAZING. The graphics are brilliant, the storyline looks great, the battle system looks awesome! If I had the money, I wouldn't be waiting until Christmas! |

I'm still waiting for FF XII....I'm really excited how it will be
especially because the game has reached the 40 points in the famitsu magazine....that's the best score and only very few games (maybe 5 or so...) reached that,,,it's said to be the best FF ever!! so...I really want to play it and judge it myself
but it's just not fair, how long europeans have to wait for the european version
my brother said something about 17th november....but I don't think that's true...it'll rather be somewhen in spring 2007... T___T
although it would be much nicer if my brother were right...
@ carlito:
7 years?! that's...preatty much... shock:
I know that my boyfriend has the rom for PSX emulator....he got it from some torrent file, maybe you just have to search some torrent sites...? |

Actually, I've heard about this before but for some reason I remember reading that it was, in fact, the only game ever to reach that achievement. Then again, I don't remember my source so it's accuracy is questionable. |

I like some of the old stuff. That being Final Fantasy VI. V was pretty original, but I don't like it that much (plus, it's been ages since I played it). IV was also cool, Cecil and Kain kick ass.
VI has to be my favorite (and Tactics, but that's a different story). One of the greatest stories ever, a great cast, a great villain, and so on. I used to like VII, and then I got sick of it. It has to be the most overrated game of the series, and I don't really think it's that awesome. Except for their Limit Breaks, all characters do basically the same stuff, everything depends on their equipped materia (Tifa's hot, though). That's the same issue with VIII, which I absolutely despise. IX was a cool back to it's roots: Cool characters (something I've been missing since VI), great music and cool battle/skill system. And character classes are finally back
And X and X-2 were a fun play (specially X-2, nice replay value). But I didn't like the story that much. And I hate most of the cast, specially Tidus. Auron was cool and a complete badass, though. And Rikku's gorgeous (reminds me of Ai in a couple of pics).
Since I'm not really planning to get a PS3 I guess this is the end of me playing the Final Fantasy series. Oh, well...

I'm actually a huge fan of the X and X-2 games. I loved being able to be in the same world twice under such different circumstances. Plus, I especially loved X-2 because of the fact that the entire game, your characters were female. Girl Power!
The storyline connecting the two was also great. It was probably more appealing to females, though. Honestly, if they wanted to make an X-3, I'd play it, too. |

@ jester:
my source is my brother...and he works in the gaming scene...so I think he is right....and I also wouldn't believe that FF XII is the only game, that could achieve these 40 points.... ^^°
but to be sure, I looked it up in wikipedia, and there I got this information:
Quote: Only six games so far have received perfect scores. They are listed in chronological order:
1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo, for Nintendo 64)
2. Soul Calibur (Namco, for Dreamcast)
3. Vagrant Story (Squaresoft, for PlayStation)
4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Nintendo, for Nintendo GameCube)
5. Nintendogs (Nintendo, for Nintendo DS)
6. Final Fantasy XII (Square Enix, for PlayStation 2)
source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famitsu#Perfect_scores
by the way, FF VII reached 39 points, when it was released
@ madgirlslovesong:
hehe, if there was something like FF X-3, I'd play it, too...I'm waiting for it, but I don't think, that it will be released... |

I think that'd be awesome, too! People have spent so much time inside these character's heads and there's such a deep storyline already... a movie would be great! |

@ madgirlslovesong:
you're absolutely right, a movie would be...like a dream...
but I don't think, that Square would make this only because some people beg for it....they have enough to do with FF XIII and other stuff from the FF VII compilation or the new FF III for Nintendo DS...so, if there would be any project related to FF X/X-2 again, it sure would take its time...if plans for such a project even exist... |

Oh, I doubt they'd ever make it into a film. At least not in the near future. A girl can dream, right?
Look at how long the time period was between the release of FFVII and the Advent Children movie.
You never know! Maybe some day in the future... |

Well, a FFX-3 in movie format would be nice, but I highly doubt it. I mean the story is finished, Yuna is back with Tidus. What's next, Seymour comes back?? Oh, we're not going there!
Hmm, I'm still waiting for thatt Final Fantasy 7 rom for emulators. Anyone have one? |
