New Calendar for 2007
by a "mysterious" artist called "A i O"...
Hmmm...  
Compare, if you will, with the Sakuranbo Picture Book, or any other of Ai's distinctive drawings.
Seems like Ayu's not the only Avex artist with a pen-name... 
Congrats to Ai on yet another merchandising venture!
Here's to looking forward to more from this "A i O"...

I apologize if my facetious tone confused readers...  
Given the evidence:
⇒ "New Artist"'s name is 'A i O', as in 'Ai Otsuka'
⇒ Ayu's 'CREA' shows precedence at Avex for the use of pen-names (for separate ventures -- i.e. composing or non-music related merchandising). In the end, 'A i O' is less obscure than 'CREA' as it is more of an abbreviation, ne?
⇒ The calendar is being sold at mu-mo, Avex's official online store. Now, knowing how much Avex lawyers act like pitbulls over copyright infringement ('Ai's wipe off YouTube' thread), do you honestly think they'd sell a fake/rip-off item that would so easily and obviously be attributed to Ai?
Which brings us to...
⇒ The style of drawing is identical to Ai's previous works, down to the use of solid circles of color to supplement the brush-ink drawings. (Here's a specific example from the aforementioned picture book.)
More specifically, the way the cat is drawn bears a remarkable resemblance, minus the stripes, to the cat Ai drew for the box of commemorative incense produced for the release of Neko ni Fuusen: 
I understand the tentative reception, especially since there's no other info about or merchandise from 'A i O' yet, but it seems *extremely unlikely* that there is another conclusion to be drawn.
At least for me, 'A i O' = Ai Otsuka/Otsuka Ai = 大塚 愛. 
and I can't wait to get my copy of the claendar...!

hahaha.... if this really is a calendar released by ai...
just the other day, caffeinated and i were talking about how ai doesn't have any calendars... cause a lot of artists do!
we were talking about how nice it would be for ai to have a calendar.....
and suddenly THIS happens!!
oh this is very exciting indeed!

It could stand for
Ai Otsuka but everyone probably already noticed that, haha. Anyways, it might be drawn for her or she could draw it... I didn't even know Ayu had a pen-name, lol. |

I've bought this calendar! I think that it is drawn by Ai. You can check the drawings on B-pass magazine. The drawing style is similar to this calender. |

| I guess it has a double meaning. A i O is not only for A i Otsuka but, I think, it's also for "Ai and Otsuka". "i" is the "and" in other languages like Catalan, co-official language in Spain, France and other countries. Maybe Ai visited Barcelona. |

Wahh the calendar looks so cute! I love Aichin's illustrations, cute with unique style. 
On the other hand though, I would LOVE to see a photo calendar~ Too bad Aichin doesn't seem to be releasing one. T[]T; |

Of course, it's no 'official confirmation' or press-release statement, but pretty strong points against the 'or not' side, I think. 
For more evidence, amazon.co.jp has got Ai-chan related goods associated with the calendar...
