The name of artists who will be performed at Kouhaku 2006 has been announced yesterday in NHK website. Each team (Red Team - Female Artists, White Team - Male Artists) consists of 27 artists including 12 artists (Red Team - 6, White Team - 6) who will perform on this stage for the first time. There is countless number of artists I wanna see such as Ayaka, Imai Miki (I'm surprised to know that this is her first time at Kouhaku.), BoA and mihimaru GT. Also, SMAP, Porno Grafiti and Wat are artists I am looking forward to see.
This is the third time for Ai on this stage. I don't know what song Ai will perform but I reckon it will be "Renai Shashin". With artists like Ai chan, Koda Kumi, Hamasaki Ayumi and BoA, I hope this year the read team will finally win (Last year and two years ago, the white team won). However, don't forget that the White team has magnet artists like SMAP, WaT, ORANGE RANGE and Aqua Timez. Kouhaku must be very interesting this year!

i never knew about this!
well judging from oricon sales...usually the male artists are more dominant than female artists in japan. i'm a little disappointed because i listen to more females. anyway good luck to ai-chin then! |

Last year I was rooting for the red team (as usual). But really, the white team deserved the win. Their performance were more appealing. I was disappointed at some of the red team's performances too
But that's last year, hopfully this year will be a greater show! I'm looking forward to GAM's performance though. Depending on which song they pick, it should be interesting to see the audience's reaction. |

the show usually start around 8ish I think on Dec 31...glad that ai-chan is participating again, but kinda disappointed that some artisits couldn't make it. I was expecting yuna ito and kuraki mai, but they are not attending.
I was praying that sawajiri erika would appear...but too bad, she's not. BUT~ this year would still be exciting...with my dearest w-inds. appearing and others like BoA, ayu, ayaka...it should be good. |

Never heard of stuff like this. Sounds exciting! Since Ai-chin and Kuu are on the red, go the reds! But I think it's a bad idea to put them together don't you think? |

It's always males vs females. And they don't really work together as a team, they just perform.

The show always airs on new years eve, and starts at around 8:15. |

I agree with orange_ka. I, too, wish that Yuna Ito, Kimura Kaera and YUI could appear at the show. They're talented in my opinion. Too bad!!!
The show will be aired on New Year's Eve at 7:20-11:45 pm (Japan Time). However, there will ne News Break around 5 minutes from 9:25 to 9 0 pm. I'm looking forward to it. |

Not related to Kouhaku, but:
There was a show called Best Artist 2006 that aired yesterday, November 29th on Japanese TV.
Does anyone know if Ai Otsuka performed on that show, or not? |
