i never heard of that band before.. i'll go check it out later. Tell me which album from this band is better!

i think a lot of you all listen to Lacuna Coil right? i have not listen to their song yet. So i need some recommendation from you all. About which track or which album is better and more worthy to listen with.

Do u know that the rhythm guitarist from slipknot, Jim Root is with the female vocalist of lacuna coil? Laughing

Mudvayne, Slipknot, Slayer, SOAD, so on so forth. Metals God man. Even though most of it's crap due to lack of talent, what is good, is really good. It's to bad there isn't a greater appreciation for it. But in time I'm sure that will change.

I read a reply dissing metal in a way. Thats shows a lack of an open mind. Think about it from my perspective. All I listen to is metal, but I still was able to appreciate Ai's music, even though I'm so far on the other side of the music spectrum it's hard for me to even understand what people get out of it. The only reason I can is because I understand something about music, and that is that a style of music is not necessarily good or bad, it's more that an individual band is good or bad. In my opinion popular music for the most part is talentless crap. But if a band is good then it doesn't matter what style they have. A good band is a band that makes you feel what they feel. In my opinion if a band can make you feel their emotion, without you neccessarily even wantng to, then that band has talent. The reason I feel metal doesn't get the respect it deserves is because for the most part not many metal bands have any real talent, or if they do it's limited to the guitarist or the singer, not the whole band. Because of that most people just see it as noisy trash. But take mudvayne for instance. The put there heart and soul into what they make, and because of that they produce an incredible sound. Some might not hear it over the "noise" but thats okay, because mudvayne offers soft more melodic tracks as well, showing there versatility and talent. Basicly what I'm trying to say is before you judge a whole genre, take the time to listen to what it really has to offer, and you just might be suprised. I was.

I have to agree with ageofillusion in many ways. One man's meat is another's poison; we all beg to differ. Besides, imagine a world of Backstreet Boys. Crap, imagine a world of Paris Hiltons. Scares the sh** out of me. And you've just got to appreciate the history of where it's all coming from, CBGB and all.

Metal's what I mainly listen to, actually. Mainly Progressive Metal (Pain Of Salvation, Communic, Ayreon, Nevermore...), but I enjoy most forms of it. Some friends of mine find my music tastes kind of weird. Well, no, really weird.

oh boy, ageofillusion has his own long theory which basically i agree with. No one cares how complicated the guitar works are, no one cares bout the double bass, blast beats, no one cares how hard the vocalist stretch their vocal chords. One thing ppl do care is, they are making NOISE...

Pretty unfair huh. Compared to those hip hop music where no music knowledges are required, but still they got acceptance from the public. I'm not saying tat metal music shud be accepted, but please, at least, don't discriminate metal music.

Cradle of Filth MIGHT come to my country Malaysia to perform, as well as Japan during their tour. Tat's a very good news from me. Last year Slipknot went to Singapore to perform live, but i didn't manage to catch them, sad.

Anyway, currently i'm listening to few new albums which worth to check'em out. "God has a plan for us all" by ANGTORIA, and "Come what(ever) may" by STONE SOUR.

Not too heavy, but at least they kick.

Yes, I'm surprisingly a heavy metal, nu metal, alternative rock, hip hop, r and b and last but not least J-pop fan. Laughing I doubt anyone here has a weirder combination than mine.

hey .::carlito::., i think i'm kinda weird too. I listen to symphonic black metal, death metal, norwegian gothic metal, thrash metal, Nu metal, utada hikaru-like R&B, mika nakashima-like pop jazz, piano instrumentals... But i'm not a fan of J pop because i think japanese music is meant to be soft for me...

Hey bankai, cool tat u have a band. I always wish to play in front of the people, but i dun have any new band yet since it's kinda impossible for me to find people who share the same taste as me. Btw, i play the guitar and drums too, but not too well...

I guess I'm not alone. It's cool to be on the unorthodox side. Laughing

i'd say everyone listens to a genre of music depending on their current mood. As we all know, our mood changes alot, does it not? So therefore, i believe our need for sounds changes to adapt to those moods!

I'd say i've been into almost all genres - pop, rock,r&b, trance etc. I've all progressed through them and progressed through them with time.

& i hate people that goes 'i thought you like rock' when i'm listening to pop or something! It's like i gotta be emo foreverr~

But keeping on topic, metal of any sort is lovely. Though i can't stand bands like Cradle of Filth, their music irritate me! I find the vocals very disturbing, not because it's always in my face but the fact that it's pointless & so is the creativity in their music. It's not creative at all.. i'd say. But overall, metal is good when it's hard to the core!

hey... i see ur problem. I have never expect ppl to accept black metal music such as cradle of filth or so on, bcoz they are not supposed to be accepted by the public anyway. Bout the vocal, oh well, that is how a black metal supposed to be. Squeezing the vocal cord and tear out the voice.

Bout the creativity, i might need to give out some of my points. I go thru their song's structure from the guitar parts and drummings. You can't judge a band's creativity just by judgin the song only. Do u know that this band used to have a drummer named Nicholas barker, who famous with his blast beat? And guitarists like Gian, Paul really make good music for the band.

To be true, i play the guitar. And i can play only songs from this band. That's y i understand this band a lot. Even though they are trying to sell out recently. But anyway i still prefer the old them. More pure to the genre.

Lol.
I feel bad because i never really acknowledged the band members whom play the guitars and such for Cradle of Filth, because i get put off by the vocals. I'm sure that they're excellent musicians and everything.

Though i'm not into the whole black metal phase, i'm rather open with my music & i'm sorry, i can't find a spark in their music. I suppose that their vocals are meant to be like that, to fit into the genre, but i really do believe music is about creativity! They should fiddle with it abit more, whilst keeping on the line of the black metal genre. Or maybe it's too hardcore for me? xD

& really? You play guitar? Which one do you play, electric or bass? Electric i'm assuming? I also play the guitar, but i play bass. Also teh drums! xD

cheers.
