Ok. This is my first post, sorry if I offend or bore anyone.
I am honored to meet you all fellow Ai-chan fans. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to making the Ai-chan experience as fun as it can be. This site is not only filled with high quality digital design and latest information, but it is also the premier waypoint for all fans of Ai and all future fans of Ai. To be able to bring the world together like that through a website is amazing. Kudos to all of you who have made this place a safe and enjoyable env-ai-ronment. (I'm giving you guys two thumbs up right now as I post.)
Gah! I'm such a dork.
Well anyway, to get to the point, I think you guys are being a little tough with her. You've only talked with her for a little bit around 2 or 3 days, and you've already made her out to be some stupid whore trying to mess up Ai's image. Talk with her a little bit more privately without posting on the forum, give her the benefit of the doubt for now, and make your judgement on that. You guys are blowing the conversation out of proportion.
I know all of you want to meet Ai very much. I do too, but we can't just go around accusing people left and right so quickly.
If she isn't the real Ai, then she at least has to be a fan of her to want to be her. If she isn't Ai then she at least knows that Ai is probably the coolest and most amazing person in the world, and she probably needed a friend more than anything else. You shouldn't hate someone for simply wanting to be loved, you know? I'm sure Ai wouldn't want you to be like that right? She is the queen of love, not a dictator. She would want everyone to feel love I think.
You should let her feel more accepted for herself than scared that way she can tell us herself in time if she is truly her or not. I believe us Ai-chan fans are better than to outcast people. We are all caring people right?
If she is the real Ai, then boy have you guys made a mistake. Whooo!!! I bet she is real steamed about how you guys posted about her boyfriend. Lol. Still, I believe Ai would forgive you because I don't think Ai is evil like that.
That's my opinion on the whole matter. Again, sorry if I offend or bore anyone. |

While I appreciate your point of view, and I get where you're coming from, I have to disagree with you.
First of all, I seriously doubt that this is the real Ai. I would like to think that the real Ai would at least be able to spell 'Nippon' correctly if she has such an amazing handle on the English language. (Which, I'm not an expert. I'm not her best friend. But, I don't think Ai knows much English.) Also, I've never been to Japan, but I'm pretty darn sure that all computers from Japan are able to display Kanji.
Secondly, and this is the true heart of the matter, this is all about safety. It has nothing to do with acceptance and love. Sure THIS person may not have any malicious intent in pretending to be Ai, but you don't know that for sure, do you? This is the internet.
We'd like to think that this is just a random fan of Ai's music, idolizing and wanting to be her, but the truth of the matter is, we don't know who this is for sure. For all we know this could be a 40 year old pedophile looking to prey on little girls who like Ai's music.
This person is also clearly in violation of the Myspace terms of agreement. I feel that they should leave, clarify that it's a fan page or be removed from the website before anyone has a chance to get hurt.
Like I said, I get where you're coming from, but I don't think an unknown person like this should be trusted. Especially not when Ai has so many younger fans here. Should this have been posted on a fan forum? That's not my call.
Do I think this person alone and not all of the Ai, Ayu, etc. impersonators should be targeted? No, it's not fair, but this person has presented themselves as a person they are not to gain friends or whatever their motive may be, and they aren't trying to deny it or make amends for it.
I'm sorry if I offended the owner of the Myspace page, (who is apparently reading this thread) but this is my opinion. This is 2006. Personal safety is much more important than being nice. |

Okay, my comments to everyone:
(1) Otsuka will not tell you "okay" if you ask to call her Ai-chan. This is not okay to any Japanese person unless you are her family, or if you know her for a long time and you are her close friend.
(2) Otsuka will not use such expressions as "kind of" and "lol" unless she is living in USA for a long time to learn such. However you should know that all Japanese begin to learn English in junior high school, but we don't learn very well!
(3) No Japanese person will tell you such story about some other boy kissed her and boyfriend is upset, this is very private. Especially famous Japanese girl will not tell such private story. Even I will not tell you such story, and you already know me and I am a modern woman, but no matter!
(4) Management company of any famous Japanese person will not allow her to engage in such conversation on line, interaction must be perfect and controlled, so it will be allowed only in Japanese language for management company oversight. If you wish proof of this, please see any blog of any Japanese singer, man or woman or group.
Okay, my opinions, which of course are like my bellybutton as I have said before... |

strangeasianguy, facing so many uncertainties, i cannot say the optimistic way that u put forward is acceptable. Being a nice fan doesn't mean we have to be careless and accepting whatever comes. Yes, we shldn't be getting tough on this 'Ai' if 'she' is what u said 'she' is. I am not even sure if that is a 'she'. As what madgirlslovesong said, that person could be a 40 year old pedophile u never know. Being wary and careful, is that wrong?
And actually, do u think if u idolise someone so much u really want to ruin her image because of ur doings that mislead people? If that person is talking nicely and everything, we don't mind if that's just a pure intent of wanting to be his/her idol. But he/she wasn't.
Just imagine this, u are well known, and someone pretending to be u talking in a way that u are not. What would u feel?
And about starting this topic and containing private conversations. I do think it's impolite, but i can understand if they are thinking of looking for answer with the help of others. And isn't this going to be helpful that when the answer is found, we know if someone's pretending to be Ai, nobody will be deceived in the future.
U are, of course, welcome with ur opinions. But u shld try to understand others' perspective as well. |

Well is there any option to report their myspace page to the proper authorities, along with your concerns. (i don't know, i don't use myspace) by the way i totally agree with madgirlslovesong...very legitimate concerns for this day and age.
and Fumi...always very insightful and helpful wherever she posts. glad to have you around this forum even while you're busy at work! |

This quote makes my day! Good to have you back Fumi! By the way, you have nice evidence of this fake Ai since you are Japanese yourself. Great job! |

Otsuka -- I mean real Otsuka -- she will think you are fine for dreaming! Dream is the beginning of best things in this world, yes? Dream + hard work = wonderful human life! |

hehe, sorry for the one day hiatus, guys. missed the school bus, so my mom grounded me for a day. but now i'm here to comment on here. first,
strangeasianguy wrote: I bet she is real steamed about how you guys posted about her boyfriend. hehe, about that...well the person somehow found this thread, so i ended the conversation. which leads me to this: do you guys think this person is a ch-ai member? i mean, they said that their friend showed them this site, but how likely is that? 'cause, finding a conversation that you weren't even a part of, on some forum thread, and somehow knowing it was your friend in this conversation? i dunno...
+Fumi wrote: (1) Otsuka will not tell you "okay" if you ask to call her Ai-chan. madgirlslovesong wrote: Also, I've never been to Japan, but I'm pretty darn sure that all computers from Japan are able to display Kanji. yeah, i'm not sure if i posted that part of the conversation, but i did ask them about that. it seemed very strange...
Mansley wrote: Well is there any option to report their myspace page to the proper authorities, along with your concerns? yes. don't worry, i already reported them. i also blocked them, just in case they got hostile or something.
LightDay wrote: And about starting this topic and containing private conversations. I do think it's impolite, but i can understand if they are thinking of looking for answer with the help of others hehe, yeah i know it's not polite. but this person didn't know me, and doesn't know you, so if you had asked any of this stuff in a private conversation, they would've told you the same thing anyway. but also, i'm young and wanted the opinions of older people, so i could decide what to do. i feel much safer here.
madgirlslovesong wrote: I'm sorry if I offended the owner of the Myspace page, (who is apparently reading this thread) but this is my opinion. it's ok, no offense taken

ok, and like i said earlier, this person has the url to this thread. so i want you to be very careful about what you post in here now, ok? |

If you are in Japan and can't speak Japanese well or write..
ask someone on the streets for directions written in Romaji, they will answer you back.
It's obvious Ai wouldn't spell Nippon wrong.
That so called boyfriend in her pics is the guy from Daisuki da yo MV...
The person who is trying to be Ai on MS must be really bored with his or hers life. No offence is this person happens to be reading this. |

i think it was pretty obvious it was not her. afterall, ai on myspace?
dumb@$$ who told you shes ai, really need a life. Ai's 24 and a pop star, hmmm, doesnt it make sense shes decided to sit infront of computer when she could be doing anything else? *sarcasm*
like come on, this person must be at the bottom of the social hierarchy to be such an idiot. he just makes me angry
i hope s/hes reading this!!!
Not mention i dont think Ai speaks any english. im pretty damn sure she doesnt. for one, for some reason the english system in oosaka is even worse thatn in toukyou, at thats a lot to say because japan has one of the worst english teaching systems on the globe.
and japanese children are taught ROUMAJI, so if she can spell NIPPON, i dont know how she uses a computer in the first place. |
