eyn, ai-tv is wonderful; I just got a mac, and even though my internet is too slow to make watching it easy, it works so neatly. It is good to have access to all of these videos without having to search youtube for them, or to waste hard-drive space on storing them, and then only being able to access them on one computer. Thanks so much for all your work! |

I just updated the TV now it is based on Flash rather than QuickTime. The thing with QuickTime is that it is not very flexible and many people don't have QuickTime installed. Now if you can watch video on YouTube, you can definitely watch Channel-Ai TV without any problem. (our video quality is 10x the one on YouTube!) If you have the lastest Flash player installed, you can now watch all video in "true" full screen without any distraction!
All of the old QuickTime video are now only available in their respective blog entries, and all the latest blog entries uses FLV for videos. I have written a WordPress plugin for embedding FLV in WordPress blogs and it has been great success in terms of popularity.
I have this wild idea that let users upload their own FLV files to Channel-Ai server and have them available on Channel-Ai TV but it seems to me that there will be a lot of coding involved and I probably don't have the time for that.
Anyway, if you would like to have your favourite artist's PV appearing on Channel-Ai TV, considering joining the blog team and spread the love of your favourite music.
As always, suggestion and feedback will be greatly appreciated. |

Awesome idea.
Quicktime is sort of outdated in my opinion. |

I have a plan to offer all of Ai-chin's TV performances available in the FLV format i.e. streamable via a Flash interface. Does any of you find the idea intriguing and would you like to see such an idea put into action?
I discussed with pon pon about the possibility of doing this and he seems to prefers watching videos at higher quality and does not like the idea of watching them in lower quality via Flash online.
For me, I found those video available at Veoh pretty decent despite the fact that they are optimized for web viewing. It is one of the reason that inspired me to create an online library of Ai-chin's TV performances. This should provide fans with easy access to her live performances without saving huge amount of space on your harddisk to store all of the videos.
Encoding video files from avi to FLV can takes considerable amount of time, overall if we are to do this we need a lot of contributors who are willing to encode their TV performances collection into FLV and upload them to Ch-Ai server. Also, due to the speed limitation of our shared hosting server, there might be bottleneck in terms for bitrate for uninterrupted playing, forcing the FLV to stay at a lower bitrate.
Anyway, these are just some early ideas for a potential project. If any of you have comments on this, please voice it here. Feel free to not supporting the idea seeing it will take a lot of effort to put this into action, which we, as a community, might lack.
The graph below gives a rough idea about the popularity of Channel-Ai TV (data collected over a past 9 days), which isn't all that great IMO, suggesting the impact of the end result might not justify the effort required to put such a project into action:

Yeah! That would be awesome! I could barely find any live performances of Ai on Youtube or other video broadcasting sites and Youtube is now very strict of copyright these days. So I think it would be a great idea, I really wanna see some Ai live performances! |

^ There are a few lives at Veoh, carlito, but there really aren't that many. But just a heads up for ya! I think the idea of having her lives up would be uber cool, but it does sound like a lot of work for you, eyn. The prospect of watching something in higher quality is always great, but sometimes I'm a bit too lazy to download a performance, watch it a few times until I've memorized the entire thing and delete it only to download them it again when someone mentions the performance . But looking at the stats of Channel-Ai TV, maybe it isn't worth the time to make lives available on Ch-Ai TV. I dunoo....I'm too indecisive for this. But I'm leaning towards not doing this. |
