ビー玉[biidama] - marble

Before putting in the cutlet, I turn and just walk
I don't quite understand this. I think that it might mean something like "to throw in the towel." It is related to the confidence line previously stated.

うつる[utsuru] - reflect
自分[jibun] - myself
を[wo] particle indicating subject
逃げず[nigezu] to not run (I think that this might be colloquial)

This part threw me for a little spin also.
I interpreted it as having a little self doubt. sort of like those times where you reflect upon yourself and see a bad version of yourself and then say "hey, that's not how I really am". In this case, she sees a cowardly version of herself but KNOWS she isn't that way and that she just has to ignore it and keep going.
I think this song is most definitely about a ramune bottle and why that bottle isn't in the pv is beyond me... o.O
Here's what I came up with:
丸い丸いビー玉にうつるは 弱虫なあたしで
marui marui biidama ni utsuru wa yowamushi na atashi de
In the reflection of this round, round marble there is a cowardly me
自信は勇気はちゃんとあるの カツ入れて 前を向いて 歩くだけ

I had wondered for the longest time what the signs said in the PV. Here's the translation from post on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/?v=xpAUWol0PIw).
The little boy:
"I'm bad at sports, so I get teased."
The business worker:
"I'm so terribly bored every day."
The elderly woman:
"But I still feel lively..."
It makes so much more sense now  |

| Just as a little additional Japanese lesson: 逃げずに isn't a colloquialism, but a standard (if not super-common) construction. Xずに means "without doing X." So 「逃げずにみれば」 does mean "If I look at it without running away." |

ok, i have a question that i've really been dying to ask, and i guess i'll post it here!
i want to know if it's just crazy little me, or is there a..sorta kinda electronic sounding man's voice in the right speaker of this song? only at some parts of the song, and it kinda sounds like he's saying, "no respect" over and over. 
am i going insane, or can someone else hear this??
go listen to biidama and tell me! i must know... |

Oh yeah, I heard it too!
But I was listening to it on speaker, so I didn't hear much.
But I definitely can't tell what he was saying, since it was on too quite.
So then I tried to turn it up, but I moved my hand to fast and turned it on too fast and scared myself! (lol)
I will try to listen to it with ear-buds some time and listen only to the right speaker, lol. Just a question... which is probably going to sound stupid... but do the different earbuds (just using them as an example) like the right and left one play something different? I always thought they played the same, lol.
Oh yeah (I say that a lot--), towards the end of the song as it's ending the little voice becomes clearer! It does sound like "no respect"! |

hehe, well on some songs, there are different sounds that are specific to one earbud. usually (for whatever reason) the left one gets extra stuff. like, if you try "drop." the left has electric guitar, and the right has the strumming acoustic.  at least i think so...(or neko ni fuusen, the left has acoustic guitar)
yeah, ok, good, i thought i was...hearing voices...
i thought it sounded like "no respect" i'm glad i'm not the only one! 
if anyone else wants to try and hear it, listen to the right speaker kinda loud, and you should hear it. it's at the end and i think the beginning. maybe for a sec in the middle also... |

As soon as I get back from Switzerland, I will get to work doing something in the way of translation; it has been so long that I am afraid my translation skills have deteriorated. does anybody know what the stuff she's saying backwards is? about 2 5 into the song. i've always been wondering what she's saying there! anyone knows?
