To Mansley: Ito is using on line encyclopedia for research and inserting here, but sometimes she is making editorial changes for her summary, for example last post explaining about Japanese people use our two different religions different ways, which I explained earlier also. You can find her sources at http://www.about.com/ Ito is smart and good writer especially for so young, she is only age 14. When I was her age I was Fresh Off Jet from Japan and I was trying to learn English better which I am still trying to learn!
My opinion: on line is best research possible now! Ito is high school student I think, if she can learn this research she will be successful! but careful not to copy for college classes, because all professors know how to search internet too, and they can find all copies! Two students in my graduate school program were required to repeat one class because they did this!
To carlito and A: and LightDay:
(1) I do not know bogeyman, but I think all cultures have some way for parents to scare children to behave properly, yes?
(2) Yes, katchan is kappa, cute young one!
(3) I think kappa is real creature because I saw when I was a child, but maybe some other people do not believe because they did not see, or maybe some people do not see because they do not believe? anyway I am from the country, maybe kappa is more active there. They have their own society, yes? we cannot see, because under the water. Also: I am pretty sure my cousin is really a fox, I cannot prove this. Someday we shall know, she is moderately famous and truth will come.
Also, about tanuki-sama: everyone says he likes to make sex with human women, so I hope I shall never meet him! he will capture her mind like fox will do for man! then she cannot resist. |

I agree internet is great place for research. however i am skeptical about information i find on the internet because it is not always correct...quite a few professors at my school limit their students to using only certain sources for this reason.
Boogeyman is a creature made to scare children. i do not believe in the existence of the Boogeyman...but you will hear talk about it rarely on TV. (I can remember Mr. Burns on the Simpsons saying something about the Boogeyman once) |

| I am pretty surprised to know that kappa has its own society. All this time i thought kappa is just one... Kappa is very interesting, i still remember when i saw it in Harvest Moon game, haha. |
