This also a bit off topic but still related in terms of discrimination.

I live in an area that is totally bizarre. When I started High school, from the beginning I suddenly realised I had transfered from rich, snobsville private school too an outlet for the mentally deranged & paranoid. I swear some of the things these people said were stupendous.

Like for example, My favourite one is when a few teachers and student have said that we should be prepared for an invasion from China or Indonesia, heck we had a full lesson devoted too it once Laughing . Another theory is Americans are all supposedly stupid & retarded, Confused well is it just me, or do the Americans on this forum alone proves that one wrong. Another is Australia is the greatest military force in the world & one day will become a superpower. Yep pigs will fly & I'm the King of England & the President of the USA. That coupled with a few racist jokes towards the following; Italians, Greeks, Polynesians, Asians and Middle Eastern people. Now I believe you can see why I left school.

(note this doesn't represent Australia in general, only where I live. There are a lot of good places like Sydney (Except the West) & Melbourne which are quite good, but unfortunately their are some areas in Australia with similar warped views.)

that is strange. i do believe you were right to leave your high school as none of that stuff is even worth knowing unless you want to get high sometime then it might be interesting for a good laugh.
that is pretty awful...seems like they were discriminating against every other country except australia...

Yeah, we people don't discriminate much. It's a shame that the rest of the countries are. We're really not in the basis of racism (only a small bit act racist), but I hope the problems get fixed. It's a bugger to see everyone fighting. No

It's a simple misconception teachers have, they believe when they become a teacher that they can shape the minds of young people to move society in a positive direction. Instead though they obsess with past experiences and their own "utopian" views they intertwine these with the facts, then come's their useless social commentaries that warp our minds. This is how we get manipulated with ignorant views on how the teachers would sort out these situations, I would listen if you were experiencing it first hand if not then they can Shut Up. The problem is teaching has really become an Elitist, Power-Trip they make themselves the absolute right. All I want was the information and shown how to set it out and relevant life skills, not a lecture on their philosophies of your how society should work. Education where I am is a disgrace they don't teach you how to become what you want its what they want. The bad thing is the few that can teach I don't listen too because the majority of the school day I am blocking out others propaganda, unless I was already well versed on the subject before hand I would lose interest.

I went to Pacific Pines State High School it wasn't the worst that goes too, Saint Stephen's College where Social Hierarchy (Rich-Poor) (Famous,Gifted-Normal) and is the reason I despise Capitalism and Politicians. Put under the terms of 'Good Christian Learning'.

I will never say I was an angelic student I got in trouble a fair bit for swearing, fighting & verbal abuse. The difference is I have acknowledge these were wrong and try to learn from these incidents. I never want too paint myself as a victim im too proud for that now, but seeing from my eyes the masquerading fools I've been surronded with. I can say with all the honesty in the world, I shouldn't shoulder all the blame.

OMG Mojo pin! You're words are so wise! But it'S true... Many people abuse authority... including teachers. Sadly there are only a few people who really know how to use authority.

Hey all people make mistakes ok?! Even me or even Eyn. Everyone does. So it doesn't really matter if you used to swear. Many people did that. The important is you learned from your mistakes, just like what you said. Love

^ both of you speak words of wisdom. Nod
it's true, many people abuse authority. it's quite sad really No they can plant their own biased views into the heads of young ignorant people, and when you're taught something from when you're very young, it kinda tends to stick. so it can lead to problems No

yeah, you need to make mistakes to learn. if no one ever made mistakes, we would never learn, and that would be bad. so as long as you're happy now, then that's what matters, right?

oh, and i don't know if any of you heard, but it said on the news last night that saddam hussein (or however you spell his name) was hanged, and is now dead.
i don't think this will stop any of the violence in iraq, and it could possibly make it worse. and last night they showed the american death count in iraq, and i think it was 2,998 Confused but i'm not positive. anyway, that's a lot No
too many, if you ask me.
what do you guys think about his execution?

yep, hussein has been executed. you can even find the video on google video.
is this the place for such a talk kerushii? i can write you an essay about it if you please but after hearing my brother and father talk about it i think they are correct...
hussein was the only man who could keep iraq in order. sure he was a terrible person for executing so many people so ruthlessly but the second the US took control the country has seen nothing but war. i do not profess to love the man or anything, but i think it was a blunder for us to topple him and let iraq become the mess it is right now. the iraqis do not like the americans and we've no real business there anyway.
plus it is costing american lives. not nearly as many as some of the larger wars america has been in but nowadays we have an all-volunteer military and we're more unwilling to lose those good men and women, especially when the public is not so supportive of the war to begin with.
back to saddam, sorry i got sidetracked a little. his execution does nothing but bring more war. even if the US had no part in deciding his fate, the world will inevitably see this as the case because the US has been deciding so many things in that country and it's pretty common knowledge our country has wanted saddam dead for quite some time. but we will see...not every iraqi is happy with this execution and there will be more violence to come as a result.
such is my opinion. i will wait for someone more conservative on this forum to come call me some anti-american fool and blah blah blah but i think it is important to see the point i am trying to argue and that people should not be so eager to have other people die.

@ Mansley
yeah, i know. why did they even start going in there in the first place? i can't remember why the US government decided to go in there anyway...was it 'cause of the world trade center thing? i dunno...i was really young when it started so i just can't remember...
but you're right, i think it'll cause more violence in iraq. and that's too bad.
so who was it exactly that decided on the death sentence?
oh, and i just put it here 'cause i didn't wanna start a new topic, and i really couldn't think of anywhere else.

@ Tatsuka Ito
no, they didn't.
but you're right, it's a lot more i'm sure.
i'm not sure if they know an exact number for the civilians Confused

hm...i believe this was in response to the WTC. after the US invaded afghanistan, bush was all like "irag has weapons of mass destruction, terrorists! we must invade blah blah blah"...baka. anyway what is this like three years later? well no weapons of mass destruction and etc etc thousands of US military deaths and probably tens of thousands of iraqi deaths later you can see this was a bad bad idea.
more on subject, there are two main sects of islam, the sunni and the shiite. these two sects are fighting amongst themselves in iraq and the US is in the middle trying to peacekeep. anyway that is how things are i believe.
