sure sounds like a lot of fun...
I'm in England, and have to wait until February for the release here
(also for CHULIP - just cant wait)
thanks for explaining the level-ing up thing EVILXKAKASHI
and thanks for the great mini review Mojo Pin
if you gave this a 8.7 / 10, I'm wondering what you expect from a 10 / 10 game -Perfection?
I think I can see where you're coming from - nothing can be perfect...
actually, now I'm interested in what your other top 10 rated games are ...
(sorry for going off topic ) |

wanna play now!!! >___<
it's soooo unfair, that games are released later in europe
I can't wait...and I get even more inpatient when I read your posts
not fair...
but I'm happy to hear, that you get to ride chocobos more often...I just love these cute, fluffy, yellow birdies
and big worlds are great...you can eplore a long time, without getting tired, I suppose
about the level-ups...I'm not the type to level my characters for hours without following the storyline...only if there'll be a boss in the next time...so I think, it'll be okay
Mojo Pin wrote: So far though Final Fantasy XII is quite good, a few gripes though the story compared too any other Final Fantasy is sub-standard but still better than most of the competition. (Your not really going too form an emotional bond with any of the characters like the previous ones.) I was bemused by the fact we had to pay for gambits. The music isn't as amazing compared too past Final Fantasies as their really isn't a standout tune.
I hope the story won't be too bad...but I don't think so
however, I think the music is great...I already listened to the soundtrack and I absolutely love it!!
jeez...I want this game...
@ mangomalte:
so you're another one who was lucky in this end battle
I also hated this "great cross" ability...it REALLY got me pissed...imagine you hadn't anti-status-abilities
that would've been the complete horror |

@Mojo Pin
those werevolves(lvl 20) are fun<but mist quickening[MQ] them from lvl 11 is a pain> , yeah u can actually level very fast from them and the good things is they drop "Kotetsu" a very good weapon at that part of the story .
Actually if you follow the storyline and did not do all the non-story adventure you would miss alot of things, and miss lots of espers [summon] and weapons too. The gambits are fun its just like UI mods in WoW . Gambits works like these , example : target:ally-hp<50% - curaga
means when any of your ally HP is below 50% the person that u assign the gambit to will automatically curaga heal that guy, instead of manually healing them ,these make the battle less stressful as the battle system is
+ ADB (Active Dimension Battle)<like mmorpg (WoW)>
+ 3D camera
+ Field encounters
+ Three party battles
+ Free movement in combat
rating, 8.5/10 c'mon ff12 if only u had better songs not jsut songs taken from other FF series.. |

The thing with Final Fantasy XII is you've gotta new formula, a lot of the main things of Final Fantasy had changed no more whiny emo teenage main characters, no linear paths, new battle system Final Fantasy so there are going too be flaws with the new style of game first off. But also you've gotta compare it too the other Final Fantasy games so you have to use your imagination too compare a new one too the old style. This means switching around the style and imagining what FF XII would've been like with random battles & turn-based battles, I know your thinking there isn't any random battles in FFXII you idiot, but this helps take away the gameplay aspect. Then look at the main strengths of the series like the story, music, graphics & art work and compare. Which all but Graphics simply are not the best in the series in fact if it had FF X Battle System it would probably be the worst Final Fantasy ever. The reason it is a very good Final Fantasy is cause of the enthralling gameplay & sense of exploration you get from the game.
IMO I have a feeling FF XIII will be one of the best in the series.
Anyway someone wanted too see my top ten here it is:
1. Final Fantasy VII PS - 9.3
2. Final Fantasy X PS2 - 9.3
3. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence: PS2 - 9.2
4. Grim Fandango PC - 9.2
5. Legend of Zelda OoT N64 - 9.0
6. Resident Evil GC - 8.9
7. Psychonauts PS2 - 8.8
8. Final Fantasy XII PS2 - 8.7
9. Shadow of the Colossus PS2 - 8.6
10. Sam & Max: Hit The Road - 8.6 |

WOW
Thankyou SO MUCH punito, the video was totally awesome
The style feels similar to FF 7 and 8, more darker and more serious
This game DEFINITLY feels like it might just be the best of the entire series
as Mojo Pin has just said, Square(Enix) seem to be slowly phasing out the gameplay areas which have traditionally been a part of the series, the areas players found frustrating, like the random battles and linear gameplay.
getting ALL THREE Final Fantasy 13's for the Playstation3 might just be overkill for our wallets though
(especially considering the price of the console itself) ...
(thanks for listing your top 10 games Mojo Pin ) |

XIII looks sickkkkkkk. (in a good way) i cant imagine how much it'd pwn on a good HDTV.
as for XII. unique battle system. i dont like it as much though.. either it feels slower to me, or i'm not used to it. I've beaten every FF i've played, except for 12. it's sort of tedious |

FF7,FF8 and FF10 were my favourites! i havnt had the chance to play FF x-2 or FF13 yet tho...but maybe in future, the graphics in ff are so realistic and cool. the story lines and characters are the bomb too! i'd like to see more pretty girls with dresses tho lol..i prefer seeing them yuna style, that summons and cast spells rather than holding guns and swords ..

FF7 is far the best FF series to me... FF8 is ok... then after that...FF12 came.. everythings great.. the graphics, the gameplay (im used to it now), the camera angles, characters.. but the only problem i have is that.. theres no chemistry in all characters.. but its ok.. its a great game though... |

Definitely a fan of the Final Fantasy series. It's probably my all time favorite RPG series, with FFVI being one of my favorite RPGs. Right now I'm still waiting to get my hands on my own copy off FFVI Advance. I shouldn't have pre-ordered it. But since I can't cancel or refund it, I have to sit and wait till my game arrives.
But I just finished FFXII and FFIII (on the DS) not too long ago. I liked FFIII on the DS. The revamp looked great and the sound was better. I didn't like the latter dungeons since you couldn't save. So basically you had to sit through 2 and half hours (give or take) of gameplay to finish the damn game when it's suppose to be a PORTABLE game!!!
FFXII was great. It floors me just how much they managed to fit into a dual layered DVD. The ending was gorgeous but I guess I expected more with so many hours of game play. But seeing the ending for FFXII makes me excited for the FFXII game that will be coming out on the DS.
So many more FF games coming out in the future, can wait. And if FFXIII turns out as I expect, I might finally be willing to fork over the money it costs to buy a PS3. |

| FFXIII and FF versus XIII look extremely exciting from the previews. The Shakesperian inspired tragedy sounds fantastic. It'll probably take ages but the wait shall be worth it. |

I played FF IIX, IX, the remake of FFIII on NDS, Crystal Chronicle on GC and the Tactic serie. I don't have PS3 as I'm not a big fan of Sony Playstation. My consoles are those from Nintendo only. My fav is Tactic and IIX. IX is boring and i didn't play til the end.
Anybody played the tactic serie? I like it even more than the original serie. The PSX FF Tactics is just amazing. And the story is impressive.
There'll be more FF games on NDS and Wii soon. To list it's as followed:
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
I think it's that version on GC remade. The graphic should be better, maybe.
- Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales
- Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Fuuketsu no Grimoire (Final Fantasy Tactic A2: The Sealed Black Book)
So far there's not much info on this. There's also rumour that it'll go to PSP. T_T
- Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
This's an easier and simpler version of FFXII on NDS, not that in the PS2 of course. Many FF fans thought that it'd suck, as the developper said that the gameplay'd be simpler for those never played FF before.
@sakuraangel
I agree that the last dungeon is too annoying. I died fighting with final boss 3 times. Every time I feel like I want to throw the NDS away (the thought that it costs 200$+ stopped me). After those 2-3 hours you kept fighting with monsters, collecting all the stuffs, and, oops, you died, start it all over!? |
