Does anyone here like the resident evil games? I get a little squirmy, but i
mostly love the story. I especially like Resident evil 4; it seems like an action
movie and its very different from the other resident evil titles. If anyone here
does like resident evil, please explain why you do! Nod

I'm a Resident Evil Purist, I have the opposite feeling on that game they call "Resident Evil 4". It isn't Resident Evil to me only in name. I remember buying it and taking it back the very same day. I hated almost all the changes they made with 4. Just changing too much of the formula and really taking away the best parts of the series (Puzzles, Acquiring Weapons & Scare Factor).

Resident Evil 1 Original is my favourite as I played it when I was 7. That voice acting was great especially Barry, who is my favourite character with classic lines like, "You could've been a Jill Sandwich", or, "Chris he's our old partner ya know" (sounding just like Mr. Ed) and my favourite ,"This weapon is powerful against LIVING things". (completely ignoring the fact they are Undead Zombies)

Thats true. But one thing i had trouble with were the camera views in the game.
When my sister (who is older than me) would play, she would be confused which
way to go. I only have resident evil 0 and i havent played it for a while, i dont
know why! I want to play the REmake of RE1 and want to see the 'renewed'
Lisa Trevor. It was hilarious in Resident evil 1 when barry said something like:
"I hope this isnt Chris' blood" Giggle

i am a fairly big resident evil fan. mostly i've dealt with the playstation 1 resident evils...2 and 3, both of which i have played many times over and done pretty much all the optional stuff for. (i don't remember if i ever got nicholai to survive in the mercenaries game now to think of it...)
i must agree with mojo pin too. i have played many parts of resident evil 4 at my friend's house but they have made many many drastic changes to it. even your basic enemy is no longer some creature that has risen from it's grave or mutated somehow but is instead some...wierd person. it was an entertaining game but very unlike the other resident evil titles.
oh and i've also tried resident evil outbreak, both of them. i was not too good at those games and they did make quite some changes. however these felt more true to a resident evil game than 4, and i can see how some of the changes were quite reasonable.
ooh and code veronica, also which i played. is very similar to 2 and 3 so i have no issues with it. no real changes but the bandersnatch enemy just looks really funny and not quite what i expect out of a resident evil game.
and having infinite ammo weapons is fun at first but rapidly makes the game wayyyy boring. what's to fear if you can shove a rocket up its butthole and then just laugh at how unstoppable you are?

I like the Resident evil outbreak Opening theme, and the opening movie. It is very
dramatic. I kind of skimmed through the Code veronica book a little while ago and it
seemed kind of good. I think there was a guy named Steve in there, but he was very
weird. I was surprised i never even heard of Resident evil Code veronica and
also Outbreak, but thats probably because i didnt have Cable T.V. Laughing

code veronica X is the one i think i actually played. i don't know the difference, but i played the PS2 version. didn't overplay it like the PSX resident evil titles where i did all the optional stuff.
yes i remember steve. i hated him like i hate raiden from MGS2. pansy or immature little boy or dork or whatever he just seemed to be a nuisance. ugh.

everyone seemed to not like Raiden off of MGS2 Sons of liberty. I think it was
also because his voice. In the japanese version, his voice was alot lower. I
never really thought much of him in the game though.

Kojima's wacky brain went a little too off course with Raiden in MGS 2. It felt more like a parody than an actual storyline at times, it would go from a good serious story at stages too complete tripe with Rose & Raiden. Rose was the main problem in that game, it made the relationship override the fact Raiden was trying too save the world from a threat to peace. Also it really screwed up what Kojima was trying to do as make us look at Snake from another perspective, it just was messed up.

Anyways I cant wait till RE 5. Here is what I want in the next game.

* Fully Explorable City - The ability to go anywhere would be great for multiple reasons. 1) helps with adding more hiding places, 2) gives you multiple ways too achieve your objective.

* More stealth orientated gameplay - I want it so if your gung-ho your going too be swarmed by Zombies, but if you sneak around make less noise there will be less monsters.

* A Monster that chases you around - Nemesis was fun, how about another one?, especially one who figures out what you like to do during the game, make it search for you.

* Environmental & Weapon Damage - Make anything breakable and useable as a weapon or to hinder the enemies progression. Make walls, doors, windows & ceilings fall apart due to an explosion, too much pressure from zombies on the other side of the structure or a Monster bashing through it.

* Hideout - Somewhere to go back restock, re-evaluate & re-plan in somewhere relativly safe before heading out again, maybe sometimes you have too defend your hideout.

* Survivors and secondary objectives - Make them detrimental to completing the game, like clearing obstacles for you or providing information. Missons would include escort, protection, runner or raid.

* More Problem Solving & Puzzles - Problem Solving includes how too work out a situation, like go slow mo and look for items too use and once you've found them an action sequence starts and you press the corresponding buttons like RE 4.

The new RE seems like it would be fun, and the new add-ons seems quite
convenient, but also maybe a little difficult.

Mojo Pin that is an impressive list of things you'd like. for the next game i think it is possible for some of those things to be implemented...but i don't think that many changes will occur. but i second many of your hopes because a lot of that seems like it'd be quite cool and very fun.

I want them to make it feel like one of those Zombie Flicks, instead of making it feel like an action flick like Rambo or Commando which RE 4 felt like to me.

I don't like RE only because I can't use a gamepad and play it effectively. I get my butt handed to me too often in the RE series -.-;;
