Okay, one question before I decide on a song... You said not to alter the pitch of your voice digitally, but is there a rule against altering the pitch of the instrumental itself? I mean, if there is, then that's alright. But if there isn't then I'm taking advantage of it... XD (I mean, it's strange, but most of Ai's songs are in a pitch that I can't hit. When the pitch is changed, I can sing it perfectly. Anyway.)
Thank you, and you can definitely count on my entry! ^ - ^
Oh, and thanks for extending the deadline. I was worried about that. O_O;; |

Yep, please join the contest by all means, I've received some pretty awesome entries so far I'm sure it will be just as successful as last year Karaoke contest if not more fun and exciting. Join this contest people, by doing so you're leaving a mark on Channel-Ai's contest history!
Okay, enough promotion. Here's some explanation for those who are confused about the rules:

I think you showed me a valid reason to alter the pitch of the instrumentals in your post. I'm perfectly fine with that. While it might be an advantage for you to be able to hit the key once the pitch is changed, it might also become a disadvantage if people can't get used to the altered instrumentals. So yeah, it's really up to you and I think you can choose the best thing for yourself! I'm looking forward for your entry!
Another participant actually asked me the same question after he/she submitted his/her entry since he/she is making his/her own instrumentals. My answer is again, you are allowed to change the instrumental or make your own, but you can't tweak your voice in software.
It's actually a very good idea if you can come out with your own instrumentals. I like creative entries but then I'm not the judge of the contest. |

Isn't there a tiny problem with anonymity if romantikku changes the pitch of the song? Or is that too small of a reason to prevent someone from participating? Personally, I don't think the anonymous thing is a big issue; I think the members will be pretty good when it comes to voting for who they think sounds the best, not who they're personal friends with.
I know earlier in the thread you said you had two entries in eyn. Out of curiosity, how much do you have now? |

Thank you very much! I'll try my hardest to get it down with the original pitch and all - but this will definitely help in the case of an I-sound-totally-horrible-how-can-I-even-stand-to-enter case. So thanks a bunch!
And about the anonymity thing - well, this is another reason why I'll try my best to do it WITHOUT changing the pitch. But then again, I'm pretty sure there are others who are making their own instrumentals in different pitches, right? So maybe it won't be as noticeable?
Anyway, thank you, and I'll get my entry in this week. ^ ^ Good luck, everyone! |

I have 8 entries so far, and it's a good mix between male and female participants, which I'm glad to see.

You're probably not the only one, so don't worry too much about it.
---
So, only 3 more days to go, some of you expressed interest in this contest but have yet to send me your entries, hopefully these people can make the deadline and for those who haven't started preparing your entry, please do so now!
I'm hoping to get at least 15 entries this time, seeing I have 8 so far. If you have a mic sitting around and haven't send me your entry, what are you waiting for! Come on, the prize is both version of "CHU-LIP" and it's fun to get comments about your singing that are unbiased. |

Haha, that's awesome! I really interested to hear the guys' takes on some of the Ai-chin songs. I'm also hoping for a good mix of ballads and more upbeat songs.
Quick question, eyn. After the competition, other then the winners of course, do you divulge the identities of the other singers or is that more up to the participants? I really wish that I could speak Japanese now, I'm getting excited! |

I really wish that I could speak Japanese now, I'm getting excited! i would seriously love to see the guys win one of these years. sort of like...it is something difficult but if one of the guys manages to somehow pull it off, it would definitely be something memorable and something to maybe encourage the more cowardly guys into participating the next year. (ie me)
and about your second question jester last year eyn did do this. after much thought i concluded this was probably the right thing to do as we're a friendly community and we're all curious to find out who's who and it wouldn't be fair if eyn were the only one to know! and it'd be funny maybe too. imagine who has what vocals and find out the truth, it might surprise you. |
