Something like that. She was born and raised in the United States. English is her first language, and Japanese is her second language. She attended a Japanese language school in Hawaii along with Angela Aki, actually.
She's half-Japanese and half-Korean-American. |

| Well, This is all according to Wikipedia. Not a 100% reliable source. It also says that she's friends with other Hawaiin J-Pop stars, such as melody. and AI. |

"Heart" has been doing well, stayed as number 1 for the week! way to go yuna! this result has proved a lot of people wrong, since many had said her debut album would not do well. I'm waiting for my copy and I hope it will continue to do well.
from the trend of the sale, it might even reach 500k. that would be a good start for yuna in 2007! and I heard there will be a single coming after this, so excited!! |

Heart is a bit too pop-y for me. I only really like 4 songs and they're the ones for NANA

I've been waiting for Yuna to release a full album since the PV for Precious came out. I came to adore her "power" ballads. I was happy with Endless Story but I wasn't complete sold on her music until I hear Precious.
As soon as I found out she was releasing a full album and went and pre-ordered it right away. I'm glad I did. I'm quite happy with her debut album. It's got a variety but a number of her ballads are on there which made me even happier. I'm glad they picked stuff from the Losin' is on there including the b-side "Stay For Love" over "Stuck On You."
And I'm impressed with some of the new songs like "Nobody Knows" and "Perfume."
I dunno, if you liked Yuna's style, her album is worth the buy (IMO)
And if you managed to the get CD+DVD version the new PVs look great.
I'm can't wait to hear her new single "I'm Here" but that's not out till mid March.
Edit- Has anyone seen the video for her St. Valentine's acoustic live?? It's available on jpopsuki and if you're a Yuna fan or even if your not but like acoustic performances, it's definitely worth the download. The video is a good 47 minutes long. It's a real treat to hear some of the songs for her album with an acoustic twist. |
