Official Site News Section Updated w/ Tour Dates and Times & the Official Title (above).
Once again, Ai has subtitled her tour with a cute rhyming pun. 〜ベストなコメントにめっちゃ愛を込めんと!!!〜
〜べすとなこめんとにめっちゃあいをこめんと!!!〜
~ Besutona Komento ni Meccha Ai wo Komento !!! ~ This roughly translates to "Pack the Best Comments with the Intensest Love!"
And of course, due to the use of 愛, being both her name and the word for love, there is ample room for a double pun.
めっちゃ is a hip/popular intensifier, here applied to 愛, derived from the onomatopoeic expression めちゃくちゃ meaning messy, confused, or absurd. According to the site Sensei's Pages, "[The term] was brought to prominence when the Japanese swimmer who lost her race in the Olympics described the experience as 「めっちゃ悔(くや)し〜い」, verrry mortifying."

ETA: { * designates performances added at a later date}
Tickets: ¥6300 (~ $53 USD)
I'm sure I don't have to point out how this is exciting news.
*sigh* Ah, to be in Japan with a ticket of my very own...
I do wonder, though, how this concert tour will pan out, set-list and design-wise...
She performed nearly all the songs on the Best album in her LOVE COOK Tour (all but Momo no Hanabira, Amaenbo, and Kingyo Hanabi)... What else will she choose to sing that's not part of the tracklist? The missing singles? B-sides of the included singles perhaps?
The overall design of her last tour was simply beautiful -- a much more involved improvement over JAM PUNCH (though her first tour definitely had a distinctive charm all its own ).
I can only hope that this next venture will be even better!

| Well I'm glad she's having a tour, though this probably means that her studio album shall take a while to be released. |

Not a very wise move in my opinion. ): Since she had already many of the songs performed in the previous tours already... it would be wiser to release a new album, then have a tour, with album tracks and the all-time favorite tracks.
But I guess the tour will still make money xD |

Hm..... She chose smaller venues this time...... for LOVE COOK she played in arena's that held 15,000 people. This tour, the largest venue is Tokyo International Forum Hall and it holds 5,000 people.
I'm unsure about this tour.... she HAS to sing her greatest hits, but she's done them already! |

hmm, I see what you are saying. there won't be as much new songs in the performance....but I think this tour might be helped to promote her best album (as indicated in the title )
I would agree she should release a new album before having the tour. but I really don't mind ai-chan having new tours....hehe. |

The first thing that came to mind when reading the tour dates is a-nation. The tour seems to end right before a-nation, so it looks like Ai will be on tour from May till the end of summer. That is, if there is an a-nation '07.
Good observation there on the arena''s size HilaryDuffFanboy. I'm guessing that means this isn't suppose to be a "huge" tour like Love 99 Cook, but more like the 'Love is born' concert. So the way I see it, this could be a good thing. |

Interesting note about a-nation, Aprilis..
I always forget about that... Perhaps because Ai is only a part of the grand whole...?
I too was surprised at the size of the arenas, however, this tour consists of 24 performances compared to LOVE COOK's 11. That should be taken into consideration.
I doubt the scale of the concerts would be like LOVE is BORN either, seeing as that was a one-night-only exclusive concert... Yet with so many performances (and 'Best of' material too) perhaps the concerts will be shorter...? That seems like cheating, tho.
This does seem like it'd put a few kinks in her releasing schedule, tho. If she's touring for the Best album, will she not have a tour for her fourth studio album...? Unless she manages to put off the 4th until around December and have the tour starting April 2008 (same time frame as LOVE COOK album & tour). That seems like too long to wait, but scheduling-wise, it's feasible. Look:
Feb. 21: CHU-LIP Single
Mar. 28: Ai am BEST!! Album
April: LOVE-chan's LOVEのテーマ
May 18 - Jul. 12: Ai am BEST Tour 2007
Jul. (late) - Aug. (late) : a-nation Concerts [judging by last year's sched.]
Aug. : Ai am BEST Tour 2007 DVD release?
Jul/Aug. : New Single?
Nov/Dec. : 4th Album?
Who knows what Ai'll sing in addition to what's on the Best album, but one could think of CHU-LIP and possibly LOVEのテーマ as the sort of SMILY/Frienger-type singles released around tour and included in performance as a bonus.
Plus there's room for more LOVE-chan releases (eventhough avex is treating her as a separate artist, I think we can logically combine the two release schedules... ).
[Note: I updated the OP w/ the Official Title & trans.] |

How many shows did JAM PUNCH have?
I really want to compare the turnout rate for all three tours. |

JAM PUNCH Tour lasted 16 performances, 4/24 - 6/1 (I think the final two were added due to demand).
