Well.. Ringu is definately a classic. I've remained stuck to the television till it ended even though I was scared to death. However I still wanted to see and find out more about Sadako - because she was so.. interesting in her eeire way. I still sometimes stare at the television screen with some sort of fear. The books are definately something more thrilling though - they create a different sense of fear which I've never seen in any other book.
The Grudge was also quite a good movie - but it seemed less intricate - just another horror movie with a very freaky theme - a woman who was mad at being murdered so she cursed the house. Not really that interesting. |

I actually don't like Japanese horror movies too much. I think they have good ideas, but the pace of the movies are just too slow for me.

I saw this on TV once. I decided to just try it out because I'd never seen a Chinese(?) horror movie before. At one scene I had to change the channel because it freaked me out so much I waited like 10 minutes and decided that I really wanted to see the ending, so I turned it back |

debating over two...but finally voted for "Ringu" I wasn't really scared from sadako, but I was scared of receiving phone calls after watching it.
got some really "shocking" scenes...shocking meaning a "sudden" scare for me. probably because I watched it at home, so I'm closer to the screen...which made the movie more creepier. and nanako did a good job, thats gotta be one of the factor that I liked the movie. and I think the atmosphere set within the movie was quite good, its not boring at all.
Chakushin Ari is good too, I was scared of my cellphone for a week after watching it. funny, the horror movies I like all deals with phones...haha. I liked the movie primarily because I like shibasaki kou. but then, the storyline was pretty good too. |

Okay, there are some maybe spoilers ahead for anyone who's going to see the eye. Is this the one about the girl that guys the eye transplants and she sees weird stuff connected to the afterlife and the life of the eye donor. Or am I think about something totally different? |

I just watched couple of months ago The Eye 2 which comes from the
Pang Brothers. and well..without any digging into it further, i was really
disappointed. Even though Pang Brothers Oxide Pang Chun & Danny Pang
are great directors i did not
just get chills from it. The story plot was quite interesting and everything..but
really I don't know did they even meaned this movie
to be horror at all when they were, creating it in they're minds .
As I'm a fan of Asian
horror, this was one the firstest films that did not get my attention.
At to this point my all time fav. Is still Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Kairo,
which i recommend everyone to see, if you havent seen the movie yet.
And as Tatsuka Ito mentioned jisatsu circle.
*Suicide Circle* is also one the mayby most
shock-valued movies from japan, It's gross but well It's also a very interesting movie. |

Wow that sounds a rather interesting plotline for a horror movie. I'm curious to watch it now. |
